  1. Our school/college shooting team has just bought one for practice throught the winter months when we cant get to a ground in time (before sunset) I take it home most weekends and during holidays mostly to practice my ABT, coincidence or not my scores for ABT have gone from a C class to an A class in 3 months using it whenever possible Regardless of the discipline it can only help and although the initial price seems quite high, if you work the numbers if you get the whole wammp which will set you back about £900, that would get you at the current prices call it 2500 clays and carts, in the 3 monts we've had it ive shot over 9000 shots at it myself. Although it is no replacement for the real thing, if you can afford it, i would highly reccomend it
  2. As far as I can tell, all of the big English skeet shots shoot gun up although i may be seeing things
  3. Mine was delivered this morning if thats any help...
  4. I shoot at H&W every thursday with our School Team, the instructors there are great especially Gareth and Colin
  5. Hi, I Used to shoot there quite a bit but since ive been driving ive been going out to the shoot in Kinver a bit more as they dont require a 17yr old to have an adult with them to shoot as a junior:yes: I suppose after shooting there for a year or so its time for a change but all said and done I still think its a very nice ground and the targets are excellent for what started out as a small pub shoot. As you said, the targets there can get quite testing at times but they always seem to be hittable (except for 2 far loopers a couple of weeks ago , that stand landed me with a 64 which i suppose isnt too bad). I think my best and worse there are 88 and 34! I'm not sure whether that shows the variation in the targets or my incosistency (a bit of both me thinks...although hopefully more of the first one ) Hope you didnt fall asleep, got a bit carried away there Chris
  6. If you can help it, steer clear of D&J's, very dirty making you barrel a B$%£H to clean at times, Olympic trap seem to be a good shell to choose for most targets.
  7. quite a significant reduction in felt recoil from an OU. not the reason I chose a semi, more the reduced general weight but the reduced felt recoil was an added bonus. The beretta has a lot more of a mechanical feel to it than the webley which can or cannot be desireable, Chris
  8. I have the right hand version in walnut. Nice gun by all accounts. I had a bit of bother to start with with a dry stock which caused it to crack a small piece off, this was fixed quickly and effectivley and I had it back in a couple of weeks. Seems to cycle pretty much everything from 32g pigeon loads down to 24g training cartridges.
  9. not sure if im too late with this but last time I was at oxton they had a fair sized tower
  10. i'm not shooting myself but as far as I know Worcestershire Gun Club is on this sunday - www.w-g-c.co.uk they put on some good birds and theres always a good welcome. Its in Halesowen, just off J3 of the M5 (directions are on the site)
  11. The results from The Heart of England School shoot (A team places anyway!) Oldswinford A - 195 Millfield A - 189 Warwick A - 188 After 2 years of trying we have beaten both Warwick(national champions) and Millfield to first place, walking away with five of the trophies!! The A team was: Chris Mason (Capt) - 43 Jon Cowell - 45 Tom Baldi-Turner (V-Capt) - 35 Ken Chan - 35 Josh Burke - 37 The other trophies we walked away with were: High Gun - Jon Cowell U14 Individual - Lewis Weaver Parent and Child - Lewis Weaver + Dad U14 Team - Ben Deurden Jack Pendlebury Harry Morgan-Jones I just want to say congratulations to everyone, especially the Oldswinford lads (and girl!) who braved the wind, rain and cold to shoot a very well laid out course at Hereford and Worcester Shooting Ground
  12. my advice would be 2 head over to wergs gun club in halesowen. Very friendly buch of which lenty will be more than willing to give you a few tips.
  13. Went up to Oxton Shooting school in Nottingham at the Weekend with school. Shot a practice round on the Saturday and shot 94ex100, my best yet. Got to the Sunday for the registered shoot and shot 81! I think i just let it get to me and i kept leaving the targets too long as well. On the last range I shot 15! I havnt done that bad for years, the worst thing was I couldnt even blae the targets as they were set perfectly!
  14. I switched to a semi about a year ago when my dad bought the escort, went for a shoot and I was hooked. I then bought the Webley 810 in walnut and I hae to say for the warranty and service you get from Webley I would choose the Webley. between the two of us we have had less probles with the Webley regarding cycling. If a beretta was on offer though... go for the beretta
  15. the best i've heard was at mid wales. A rather stocky welshman was on the 5th peg with four others. All I heard as i got off the bus was: PULL!...bang...PULL!...bang...PULL!...bang.bang...PULL!...bang...BAA!!...bang very funny at the time, could have been one of those things where you have to be there but there you go another one is a teacher at the school i go to and when he shoots skeet he does a mix of a bark,. pull and buuuuuh lmao I tend to stick to a quick sharp PULL!
