  1. i've ued them for years on the end of sticks,easy to replace if you loose them too.a mate of mine...now read this carefully..... glues a tea cup to a saucer,glues a spent cartridge to the BOTTOM of the saucer,in the middle,"brass" to saucer,insert a stick to the cartridge.thus the cup&saucer can "sit" on the stick..With me so far? fill the cup with seed,stick it in the garden& BINGO a bird feeder!!!! we have tits in our cup.....make ya own jokes!!!!

  3. inspiration from you guys as i'm off this eve for a bit of the same...it's just soooooooooooo cold out more like winter than spring!!!
  4. as mentioned above WARM CLOTHING at the mo' plenty of layers that you can take off&put on i prefer.better to have it&not need it than need it& not have it!!!,i've only been doing it a year&not a brilliant permission but some days i can bag a few&i only have basic stuff about a dozen shell decoys 1 crow &half a doz' full body,ex mod cammo net doubled over on home made(washing line prop) poles..Whatever ya do ,enjoy it& be safe!!!
  5. i've used old 12g emptys they can get lost but i've always got replacements
  6. tried yester day not a bird to be seen!! even by the farm house(where i can't shoot) there were only a dozen or so.normally as i drive up the access lane i see flocks of 20/30 moving around but ziltch yesterday
  7. i read of a guy who adapted an old golf trolly from the tip > me i drive it there!
  8. i contacted the forestry commision in LYNDHURST about 4years ago..................still waiting for an answer!!
  9. been out today....not a pigeon to be seen,plenty of gulls tho'(brief storey,father in law had a nice piece of homemade fruit cake,sat eating it on Poole quay,pointed to brownsea to show something& wallop!! gull took his cake..bl**dy big bit too,he was never 1 for swearing but he did that day!!)back to the field... i also had plenty of cormorants,buzzard& as i packed up a Perigrine!! so no wonder i had no luck!!!
  10. wow very good brilliant work,but way too much for the average home knife maker but great to see craft is still out there.

  12. I use threaded bar &araldite,get the edges near to right ,trim later. i use a biy of leather(old harness) too between the antler/top&stick,clean up with a dremmel&fine sand after...bob's ya uncle
  13. nice work mate,i've made an attempt on making one but nothing like this!!! started to use a blade form aold pair shears so hope they'll turn out when time allows.i like the way you've left some erosion "scars" on it well done.
