sort of in same boat but im a roofer and Im always fixing roof sheets on barns or changing tiles for the farmers where I shoot,,, I think it always nice to help when you can so you build a good friendship... I think the saying is "if you scratch my back il scratch yours"

great shooting, always nice to see the birds dropping into the decoys nice write up aswell hopefully il find some Saturday

same really haven't had the bags to shout about, plus I still cant work out how to upload pictures. but like you said this is a great site for information, banter and to let people know what is happening around the country

Im exactly the same... was just checking the weather and looks perfect, farmer even phoned mid week to tell me some birds are about

Farmer has done a feild of grass and he said the seed gets scattered and not drilled down.... hes told me to keep an eye on it but iv never heard of people shooting over grass seed If any ones got any info it would be great.. Atb ben

Iv noticed a few birds dropping in the rape!! The thing is there is about 8 smallish feild in one block with a little back road going through, When looking there was about 20-50 in each feild but in one the was over 100. Im not to sure of the flight line but I know there are 2 big woods within a mile each side of the rape Im not to sure the best plan of action is, do let them build? How do I choose what feild to shoot? Any advice would be good cheers

Found a flight line between 2 woods, 1 wood was a roost during the day and the other I believe is where they are feeding on acorns, neither woods are actually on my permission but the line past over a hill on my land. Got to the spot about 11 after watching bird after bird flying over this group of trees witch was perfect for me and the farmers dog, The first birds flew quite high but shoot able, I missed and missed again then missed again this carryed on for the next 10 or so birds, now the dog starts whining cos she's got nothing to pick up so I gave the next one plenty of lead and whack it fell like a stone.... Next bird same again plenty of lead and whack another down.... The line carried on till 2.30 and I shoot 12 pigeons and 2 crows for 70 yes 70 very enjoyable testing shots. I couldnt help smiling every time I hit a high fast pigeon and i watched the dog retrieve it. Not a big bag but a very enjoyable one with no heavy lifting...
