Great bag. I'm off to poland, for a return trip, with the old man. Hopefully there will be some more boar.

I seem to come across 70% of them after 1 - 2am. Very antisocial of them

How does it compare to the urika?
-
Whats your opinion on this semi? I have just ordered one to replace my Urika, which was giving me a little trouble recently. Looks pretty How does it shoot? John

A nice sunny day in Ireland.

NICE I don't like the extended mag - can be a bit tricky when resting out of car etc......
-
Marc M, yes I made that for hanging all types of game. Its just nails hammered into some wood. Very simple, but works well

Don't forget the plum sauce

we are seeing increasing numbers in fermanagh. Many more Sika and fallow + some big reds!

825-50lbs. for a good bull. I don't know who much this one was. Probably quite close to that.... They look even bigger through the scope!

I'm heading out next year to bag myself a bear and a moose... should be interesting

Not a bad one 301SCI points. The rifle he was using was a .300 weth.mag. - a terrible thing to fire. The round, in my opinion, is too fast. Range was about 60m. He bumped him in thick cover.

Shot on the last day of hunt by my mate.

I can only swap the .22mag for the same or lesser calibre.
-
because I may as well change the .22mag for something more useful. I believed that the .17 was capable of more than just head shots.... then again it is a smaller bullet than the .22mag.
-
I have a .22 mag which I've had for years. I hate it. Its a terrible calibre. I have been using my 6.5 x 55 for foxes recently. It works well. Should I swap my .22 mag for this new .17? I don't know much about this new calibre and its potential on foxes.

Schmidt und Bender all the way. All you need for the UK is 6 x 42. I do not believe that variable powers are all that more useful. When you come to Africa variable powers play a much more important role. I even use the Hungarian S&B. Just as good as the german.

In my opinion I would get them done by a good gunsmith. Ther reason being, not that it is particuarly hard to do, one ends up with a rather cheap 'glossy' finish. However, there are a few good blueing kits out there.
