  1. Not got the Cert yet so I a not in the running, but could I be cheeky and ask for a pic please
  2. >Col Pol if you were as good as me she wouldn't be awake afterwards Do u bore her to sleep
  3. Murray, you can pick up a Second hand pre charged for £200 which is probably less than you paid for the lightening and gas strut. Next time think engage brain instead of typing finger. Encouraging people to break the law is what this sport doesnt need
  4. Mate, no offence intended with anything I said, but this sport cant afford people doing things wrong. It is exactly what the Antis want, and anything that sounds illegal needs to be frowned upon for this reason
  5. If by upgrading you mean putting a .177 rated power source one in a .22 gun then no. The gun will fire like ****e, be over 12ft/lbs, if caught without it on a valid firearm certificate you will get done for having a firearm with no licence and spend a mandatory 5 years in a pre paid hotel. Plus you will be another statistic used against legitimate airgunners by the antis. If you want to get a FAC rated gun, then get a precharged. Much easier to change the power and the gun shoots nicely at any power. But obviously you need and FAC.

    John Darling

Yes same chap, brain Tumour I think RIP
  7. Got an 8inch Falcon too and they are a much better gun for normal shooting. The stealth just has its uses, i.e. singleshot simplicity(no worries to find the right way round for a mag quickly in the dark), loads of rails for laser and IR illuminator, and its alloy so it can go out to play in the rain. Got the scope secondhand of the www.airgunbbs.com board and it is by far the best Gen 1 scope I have tried, especially with a deben lamp and IR filter
  8. >Did you know ('cept for the scope) all the materials for that gun would cost about £100 There is a fair bit of work involved in taking it from a £100 pile of metal to the gun  However you are right in that it is a simple enough gun, but that is why it is so easy to tune Take a baikal O/U and a beretta O/U material cost is similar (other than type of wood) yet you pay more for one than the other Everything has a price innit
  9. Here is my baby With NV sight With new longer barrel and Logun silencer: Red, got mine for £250, plus £30 for silencer, £75 for barrel, £20 for custom brass hammer, harris is off another gun, and the NV sight was £250. These prices are secondhand or as new. I wouldnt buy one new as Gunpowers UK customer service is useless and nothing is to be gained from the warrenty. Another reason to buy as secondhand one is that if you get one which has been tuned then you have saved yourself a lot of trouble. This is part of the reason they are not that popular as work needs to be done tuning them to get them anywhere near the quality one expects from an out of the box gun.

    Poachers

I realise the board with nails was probably foul of the law, however that is assuming that the poachers can prove that you put it there and that is wasnt part of the fence/gate that they broke off etc.... I doubt the poachers would persue the matter legally. Get some Tiger Urine from your local zoo and put that round the place, that should scare the dogs might get rid of a few deer though :yp:

    Poachers

If it is ****** or gypsies or whatever derogatory term you want to call them, they are not necessarily local. Criminals will travel if they think its worth it. Look at the scrotes that stole Tony Martins lead, they travelled from Newark to Norfolk, thats got to be an hours drive? Just because people live in caravans it dont mean they are criminals. <EDIT> http://www.henrykrank.com DUH </EDIT>

    Poachers

Red, I would have thought it wouldnt matter where they were. If I were trespassing on someones land and set one off, I would not hang around to find out if anyone had heard it. I would suggest the flare ones though as it could affect their dogs which you suggest is their main tool of poaching. But bangs are good too Or give shooting permission to trusted people to lamp for you, poachers I would think would not like to stay on hunted ground. Boards with nails pointing up, accross all the gate entrances would stop them using vehicles as well, and at night be hard to spot, especially if you had some grass/mud on them. Just remember to tell all authorised entrants about it. Or only put them down at night.

    Poachers

Trip wire flares and blank firers, from henry crank. Put them on all the gate posts etc... A good tip is to put the unit in a tree and use a staple to retain the cable at the bottom of the tree. Then when it goes off they cant steal the unit as it is 10ft up a tree
  14. Another less biased article: Metro Website report Specifically Paragraph 12 which suggests the children were actually interested, before their interestes were decided for them by their teachers. Strange there were no reports of the kids enjoying it on the report for the Blair Broadcasting Company
  15. Chilt, I would have thought you would get the probs from any bird as they may have all been pricked in the past and like you say I wouldnt want to take a chance with my animals. On another note, I understood that birds were affected by the lead because it stayed in their gizzard and was slowly bashed down by the grit and gravel in it. This may not be the case with birds of prey, not sure if they have a gizzard. I would stick to commercial meat. Or maybe get an air rifle and shoot smaller things like starlings, which whilst legal is also very unlikely to have been pricked in the past.
  16. The one thing putting my g/f off moving to france with me is the fact that over there they are much more liberal and the chickens come with their heads on, and the rabbits with fur etc.... Ill change her mind one day though, ******** if I am staying in this bloody PC country
  17. >- Make it an offence for people aged 14-17 to carry an airgun or airgun ammunition in a public place, even if it is in a secure cover This is only going to affect proper shooters. The criminally minded know that as an under 18 they will prolly only get off with a caution. A 14 year old isnt going to go to Jail for 5 mandatory years are they. Time they started acting on the irresponsible adults that let little johnny shoot the neighbours cat, whilst unsupervised from the balcony of their flat.
  18. I have one fitted to my gun and it aides checking the point of impact when changing scopes (I use a weaver base to mount an NV scope and so need to know the POI is unchanged). The laser is also useful with the NV sight as the NV makes it really hard to tell the range. However if the gun is zeroed with the laser on the POI then when the crosshair meets the laser then you know that is the exact range at which the gun is zeroed. The cheap ones I have experienced (Crosman) are ****. Large dots at any range (I still use one but only as the large dot is very easy to see). Beamshot ones should be much better and as soon as I see one for the right price I intend to get one
  19. In a lightening it will knock it up a bit, but the gun will shoot like **** and you will kill more by lobbing the gun at things.
  20. www.deben.com nets in net making on the left
  21. I picked up a Browning Gold Hunter in Wetlands camo with 3.5" chambers for £550 and it had only had about 50 rounds through it. Just keep looking till you find a gun the right price :yp: Would highly recommend the Gold and have never had a mis fire or jam. I must have put about 500 rnds through it easily in the 5 months I have had it, using bismuth, lead and steel all with no probs.
  22. Get yourself an Owl, them see in the dark innit :yp:

    Iron sights

Bear in mind the point of impact will change if the gun is not being held correctly when prone or resting on a support from the POI when standing.
  24. Not a prob for hunting I dont think, however I think spaying the jill can cause problems with her health, so it is best to get the hob vasectomised but this is not 100% reliable and she can still get pregnant.
  25. Nice Pics, atm I only have two but as they will hopefully be working on that soon My Polecat Jill My Polecat Hob
