  1. If it's over a weekend and doesn't clash with the rugby world cup final, count me in. Fengreg.
  2. Get in touch with Andrew Knowles brown of the scottish hawking/falconry club, (see web site) they're always looking for good ground, they have field meets on many of the islands all through the season and need them, good people too.
  3. Not quite as good as square eggs, but I believed that too! Good shooting by the way. Decoy patterns, now there's a thing, on Tuesday I was watching a crowd of pigeons feeding on drill, they were quite tightly packed together, roughly in a tear drop formation, fat end into the wind, leap frogging each other to the front much as Rooks do, tried it yesterday, 18 decoys in a tear drop, say 20 yards long by 10 wide, thirty yards out, wind blowing right to left two floaters at 25 yards down wind from the tail, hide in line with the tail end, worked well.
  4. Sorry it was richg not Kitchrat
  5. Bloody hell what did I say??!! Granted my shooting is not the greatest, I have good days and bad ones, I normally end up with a rate of around 45-50% on a good day, not that I care much, it's the getting out in the fields etc, etc Now if Kitchrat is good to his word he would be more than welcome to get in touch, invite me down the A1 to his neck of the woods, for a days shooting, where he could point out the error of my ways and correct them accordingly, I'm an open minded sort of bloke so this should be fun, if he doesn't take it too seriously. Over too you?
  6. I had a good day myself on fresh drill, just south of Sutton St James, lots and lots of pigeons, I'm so used to not seeing many I only took 75 shells so run out after two hours, with a bag of 31. It was good to be busy.
  7. A good day, the pigeon didn't decoy later in the day, too much rape to choose from, but the roost shoot more than made up for it, along with the company of course. Thanks to Fenny for organising the day and the other lads for the company.
  8. Like you said adults with there young, I've heard that they sometimes do stay together until early spring until the adults begin to pair up for the breeding season and then chase of the youngsters off. Lead shot is a problem for them yes, keep my fingers crossed on that one.
  9. Just got back from a morning shooting pigeons on rape near me, after bagging half a dozen the latest was still flapping on the ground and then a Sparrowhawk came from nowhere and struck it hard, after several minuites tearing off it's feathers it carried it off. Half an hour later a small flight of pigeons came in, I downed the first and winged the second, at that instant while the pigeon was still in the air a Peregrine hit it hard and bound to it, then a second, and a third Peregrine joined in and a right squabble ensued over this pigeon, I watched in amazement as these rapters played and squabbled over this pigeon, dropping it from height, another catching it until they were out of sight, fantastic to see . So the tally for the day, Human 22, Spar 1, Peregrines 1. Not a bad morning.
  10. Sorry to say this, but your screwed, not now maybe, but you will be, get the best legal advice you can afford, try to keep it amicable for the kids sake, but again, sorry to say, there will be lots of tears on your part, but eventually, things do get better, I promise you!!.
  11. Now your telling me there's more than one type of fluffy green thing out there??
  12. Thanks for that, and I'm with you there
