  1. As per title, must be short action. PM me if you have one available
  2. See Welshwarrior's previous reply, I'm sure he hill see you right on a good used scope. I use a 6x42 S&B on my .22lr, bought second hand and I've had no problems whatsoever.
  3. For an illuminator that will deliver a lot of IR, but won't be too cumbersome, I'd recommend: http://www.nightvisionstore.co.uk/black-sun-2-b502-50mm-ir-illuminator-c2x19081344
  4. chambers sell the rimfire magic 455 trigger kit, I bought one from them recently.
  5. Thanks Bruno. I'm going to have to leave it until the end of the season, so there's no rush. At least now I have a few recommendations to go on.
  6. Just got a GC500. They added a load of extra calls at no extra cost. It was delivered next day too. Had a quick go with it indoors, and my terrier went for it immediately So far so good, hopefully it'll help me bag a few foxes over the weekend. * Only slight gripe - it could do with a camera tripod thread on the base, to enable attachment to a bank stick or similar. No matter though, it can hang by a piece of string from the carry handle.
  7. Thanks for the offer HG.I would be interested if my 101 were a diamond grade or supergrade, but I'll stick to getting the stock re-finished at some point.
  8. I liked the list format on the gun search much better, it was easier and quicker to go through. Seems like the same old **** stays on there in my area, I wonder if it's mainly a list of guns that gunshops can't move on quickly. Of course the odd gem or bargain crops up, but it's not often IMO.
  9. Might be best to leave it to a professional then. I don't mind getting my hands dirty but don't want to risk ruining it. But, the gun's only worth around 500 - 600 so I'll have to have a think about it.
  10. Does anyone have any experience removing the factory finish on 101 stocks? I am thinking about using the yellow tin nitromors but not really sure if it'll be man enough - depending on what the finish actually is. The stock has a varnished/laquered gloss finish, and the timber is light brown in colour. The end goal will be a matte oil finish, and a darker tone of brown. It may or may not reveal a nicer pattern in the grain, but it will be an improvement on the original I'm sure. But... I need to work out how to remove the current finish first.
  11. A suggestion - Keep the gun you like for shooting clays, game, vermin etc. And buy another gun for wildfowling/steel use.
  12. Thanks for that, I'll double check what's in the boxes! Bet you were annoyed having to take them back... I bought 125 at £10.80 per box
  13. I've just bought some lightnings in 1's & 3's. Looking forward to trying them this weekend
  14. I've no doubt there will be a next time, whether it's the same culprit or not! I'll make sure I gather any evidence I can and call the police. You're right, the law can't be enforced if the police don't know it's been broken.
  15. I caught someone letting out birds from my larsen trap a couple of months ago, and it wasn't their first time interfering with my traps. If I thought at the time a prosecution would have been possible I'd have called the police straight away. Next time I will do.
  16. Strange? I got a call back within the hour when I phoned them a few weeks ago.
  17. Locksmith perhaps? Or maybe your local RFD could help.
  18. Good advice already and kind offers of posting you some rigs! If you still have time and haven't got any hair rigs, it's worth considering some pellet bands. They're basically tiny rubber bands that you stretch around the pellet and then hook on. You can use them on pellets and dog biscuits (and boilies but I know you won't be using those), very good over scolded pellet and meat or corn would be just as effective as a hookbait as fenboy suggested. Good luck, hope you catch a few
  19. Looking at this, I think I'll stick with windows 7 https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=windows+10+preview&espv=2&biw=1600&bih=887&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0CCcQsARqFQoTCPO2jtma4MYCFQcI2wod8B4O7Q&dpr=0.9
