  1. What happens to those without  paperwork. They he or she could be absolutely anything i.e. Would be assassins, criminals, untreated mentality insane and dangerous.

Worst of all (tongue in cheek) future Labour supporters.

  2. If it was really that terrible, wouldn't you walk away. While it was happening.

I'll see thee, as Fred used to say in the indoor league.

  3. I purchased this from Mick Vokes about four years ago. I paid £345, which included a Brady box, which I sold. Mick new a little of it's history. Informing that it was purchased by a serviceman who brought it back to the UK and had it sleeved. It was then a sleeper before I purchased it from Mick. I spent over £100 to have the woodwork smartened up (JWS) Wolverhampton. For further photos and information including the Vokes Guns label. Please send an email address. £300. Includes the cartridges.

    Thanks.

Very very disappointed with Yorkshire CC.  For a while I thought they were going to stand resolute against the intense media pressure but no, they held for a while then crumbled. Mass resignations, suspensions, new chairman etc.  very poor but I suppose understandable, one man bringing a great institution to its knees aided and abetted by a rabid media (BBC).

    Couldn't agree more.

  5. As a NHS worker for many years. I have worked with people from around the world and many counties from the UK..

There has always been banter. One Indian nurse who spoke better English than all the white British staff on the ward, would sometimes exaggerate an Indian accent, just for a laugh with staff.

I know about a handful of Hindi words one of which was Jaldi (Quickness).

I would at times say it. He laughed like a drain, replying, I am a lazy indian.

British regional accent mimicked back and to.

All good fun, never a thought of reporting to senior staff and often continuing onto the social club/ local pub.

I think one or two in ex players, looking for a pay day.

Many years ago a Mates girlfriend asked why some shooters had camouflaged guns and camo jackets at a clay shoot?

Her point of view was that "they do not need to hide" from the clays!    Quite astute really.

It has to be time for -

Smith, I didn't see you at camouflage training on Monday.

    Thank you sir.

I have two things against semi autos.

1st, In the field I can't find the empties and hate to leave rubbish.

2nd, on clays, constant bending down or even picking up with a magnet sets off my Meniere's.

On a personal note, for that reason I gave up using one.

No objection to anyone using one anywhere, I think gun choice is a personal thing.

Although I do think the camo ones look bloody silly on a clay ground.

I agree with your comment on camouflage auto's.

     Thanks.

Not had a semi for years (Now, now...stop it!) Would the ejected cartridge hit the next person in DTL?

I think it wasn't so much as hitting them but going in their general direction and breaking concentration. The person on your right being the unlucky one on the line. Not that it ever bothered me to be on the receiving end. I realised many years ago that I wouldn't have to worry about shoot off's.

  9. Just semi retired and would like to return to clays.

I like the idea of a semi but don't want to be frowned upon by fellow shooters.

I remember them not being too welcome on DTL lines.

Sporting and skeet not a problem if you collect your spent cartridges. I would of course use a flag and slip.

This was back in the 80's 90's.

     Thanks.

  10. The amazing one for me is when Fred has to tie and then climb ladders that go over a collar if that's the right word on a chimney. He appears to be leaning back as he does so.

Great guy, I believe a couple of jars at lunchtime, if a pub was around.

Fishing and shooting have been on their list for a long time. Shoots raided and fishermen assaulted. Rabid antis are very dangerous having experienced pepper being thrown in my horses face at a meet. Animal lovers?

Agreed, but if hunting stopped imagine the greater emphasis they could / would put into shooting and fishing.

  12. Who funds Greta.

Just arrived in Scotland, saying she hasn't had an invitation to speak. Good.

Her travels and accommodation must cost a lot.

Just been reading about how heritage railways are using imported coal from Russia.

All that Welsh steam coal we have that will never see the light of day.

  13. I was told many years ago the flag was also known as the 'Butchers Apron' in some parts of the world. Anyone else heard this.

Perhaps I had a liberal minded schoolmaster.
