I don't get it either. I read that bosses are struggling to persuade their staff to come back.

I know some lads have said they are happy sitting at home on 80% and why wouldn't they be.

I can understand if your older, health problems or have kids to look after and the schools are shut, otherwise get back to it.

I doubt being told you can roam free is going to get people back in work quicker though.

I posted this elsewhere yesterday,  the odds seem very small your going to catch it if your under 50

  2. Sorry Chris but you have no chance, first post asking for land to shoot on always gets shot down.

If you look at the shooting wanted , free and paid you'll see lots of single posts from people asking the same.

Look for beating if there are any game shoots this season is your best bet.

And now the government has extended furlough - we are sooooo economically screwed.

I don't understand that, if they want people to go back to work that isn't going to do it, if it's just to help those with kids at schools or for people who are classed as vulnerable that would make sense, but surely those in their 20-50s should be going back to work?

We have to remember that all the people dying from it now, and probably for some weeks back, have been infected with the lockdown restrictions in place.

In theory, fourteen days after the lockdown was imposed the number of new cases should have just dropped like somebody had turned off a switch

People have still been mixing though, public transport,  supermarkets,  then all the people working in front line positions.

Never mind anyone who hasn't abided by the lockdown.

But I know what you mean.

Thanks. When my grandson used by mistake .20 cal pellets in his 22 Gamo Coyote they loaded in both magazine and chamber ok if fact they grouped but was not putting pellets on pellets as it normally does. Taking yourself and others advice it would seem it's a none starter as I've looked online getting a 20 cal magazine and probe there don't seem to be any available. Thanks to all that have commented

They do come up, just not often in places like the rapid forum.

A wanted add might be what you need?

changed the barrel on a Theoben very easily but have know knowledge of the Gamo Coyote and would not want to go into the workings . So basically if by just changing 22 barrel for a 20 barrel the power would be the same i don't know. Perhaps my 20 cal itch is not possible without spending a lot of money

You would need a new probe and magazine as well.

I thought you were thinking of playing with a Springer.

How many of us have had that mysterious and unsolicited phone call asking us about the accident we were involved in an not our fault.

The next lot of phone calls will probably be something like...

Did you loose property or wages because of how the government handled the coronavirus outbreak then call this number , chancers one and all.

So that’s 12% of deaths recorded were under 65 and totalled 3347 (out of a total population of ball park 70,000,000 people).

I don’t think we have the stats on how many of those 3347 had underlying pre-existing health conditions but I bet it’s more than 50%.

Still a lot of people who have died but I think that's why they have said go back to work if it's safe to do so.

And your probably right on the 50% being higher.

What percentage of 65 million give or take a couple of unknowns just landed on the beach at Dover, is 32,000.  What percentage is 230,000 of 65 mill.  What is the percentage chance of anykof us, hopefully just taking sensible common sense precautions of catching it?

I've been trying to find a break down of the age groups that have died in the UK, they come up for other countries,  lots of articles about lower income workers being more affected,  the same with the BAME group, but not a table of ages affected in the UK

    20200511_213818.jpg.edc9c7c538ea24428bbc22a0e69470bb.jpg

Looking at the numbers you can see why the government wants "older" people to stay home its obviously affecting that age group more, but I think this is why they have decided to start getting people back to work.

Still a small percentage Walker, but keep your head down.

Because Sturgeon reckons we are two weeks behind England with the virus so its impossible for the four country's to work at the same pace

If that's the case then I don't blame NS for wanting to do things differently,  it's a shame Blackford didn't word his question along those lines.

Has there been much mention of the numbers who are dying in care homes in Scotland?

I've just been looking at Scotland's figures and they are lower than I thought they would be,  so if they are rising still then obviously its sensible to be cautious, but almost 50% of deaths are in care homes.

And where Ferguson is concerned, not badly wrong once, but badly wrong on EVERYTHING he has done from BSE/CJD, foot and mouth, SARS, birdflu.

He is going to be thrown under the bus by the politicians when this all unravels. I really would not want to be him when the harsh economic realities begin to bite

So how can someone keep getting these things wrong and still be the go to guy? I could understand if he was simply the spokesman and it was a full team of people getting facts wrong.

I was just going to mention that; his coding has been ripped apart by anyone who knows anything about coding. Full of bugs  and reuses outputs as inputs, further magnifying the error.

    And for stochastic read guesswork

What I don't understand is how can these experts get it so very wrong then? Surely there is more than one person looking at numbers and possibilities,  if we aren't sure about something in work we have someone double check the math????????

  13. The power of google, I put it an environment group I'm in on Facebook and someone else said moth, so googled moth eggs, they are certainly strange looking, apparently they like to eat woody stuff.

good question , but it should not be political.

Both the Welsh and Scottish ministers have asked Boris who should be telling the Scottish or Welsh people what they should be doing,  both trying to pick an argument I would say,  more so Blackford.

Happily Boris seemed to dismiss them both saying we are all in this together.

Not sure what the point the quick fire questions serve with people asking 3 or 4 part questions,  but at least the questions are being asked and answered in a civilised manner.

Regarding the second spike, I think this is an area where the government, and Boris particularly, have been misleading - a second spike will come, no ifs buts or maybes, it's all about managing the steepness of the spike...

Well that's where all the day tripping Guinea pigs will come in.

At least the extra hospitals are ready.

I imagine the reason 'shooting' wasn't mentioned is because it's not PC. I do respect how Boris has handled this but he's not going to rock any boats by using the S word.

No need to mention sitting by a lake or in a hide are near enough.

I'd never expected individual sports to be mentioned,  bigger fish to fry.

  17. 8 minutes ago, TRINITY said:

Well looking at the 60 page document it says sports like angling and tennis can continue.  Surely shooting in all its outdoors format could reasonably argued to fit into that bracket.

Fishing and shooting are pretty much the same ish, tennis you need two people but you could play with family.

I'm sure someone put basketball earlier which makes no sense.

good question , but it should not be political. And I belive strongly  that's what it is .

Its absolutely political,  same with going straight to Starmer yesterday after Boris gave his speech.

It would be nice if everyone was singing from the same sheet but they rarely are.

It would also be interesting if Boris told NS to tow the line, but I'm sure that would be done behind closed doors

It`ll be nice to get a bit more normality into my life, but I want to be safe and I don`t want to pass it on neither.

The cracks are everywhere,  it's the lack of definite rules that's causing it, and yesterday's announcement didn't help.
