Getting there. On the total deaths front, only Italy to go and it's into silver medal position behind America. Should have it done by the end of the weekend.

So are you sure Italy and Spain are reporting all their deaths? How about France? Because apparently they do things differently in different areas.

The things put in place are working, but I'm sure you could have done better.

First part, it kind of isn't. We were never told re' F&M not to travel unless it was essential, as far as I can recall anyhow. We went all over the place with the kids, I remember it well. F&M didn't effect the pubs' clubs, bars and restaurants, the shops functioned as normal and people went to work and on holiday. So no, not like it at all really.

No, I know plenty of farmers but all are fit and well last I heard. You're right, green laning doesn't need to be happening, nor horse riding probably, but you answered the rest of this point yourself.

You stay at home if you want, but personally I've been out every day, whether I'm travelling to and from work, or if it's the weekend. I'm still using the local shops and taking all the necessary precautions, but it's only since last week I was able to find some hand sanitiser as it's not always possible to wash my hands, depending on where I'm working, so that now stays in my vehicle. None of our groceries or mail is cleaned, and none of my work materials are cleaned prior to using, it's just not practical; we simply believe in others and their capabilities to take the same precautions we are. Like you say, it's not hard is it.

The local pub is doing a roaring trade on a Friday evening serving the villagers takeaway food ( it's a luxury not a necessity ) from their catering van, and my home town local chippy is opening up again tonight....people will travel to that but I couldn't recommend it as they're poop.

The reason I've said about F&M Scully is because people keep saying they need to be out shooting, the pigeons will ruin crops, they'll be in a field so it's fine, I'm sure most of the farmers at the time said stay off our land so as to not spread it. I'm sure some will still be shooting,  but hopefully its local necessary and they are keeping quiet about it.

I'm not staying at home, I'm working still, but what I'm not doing is any unnecessary travel which many on here just dont seem to grasp, people shooting,  fishing, rock climbing will most likely be alone and might not see anyone,  but most still have to travel to get to these places, which means there is a risk however small.

I've seen several chippies open, but you've had to order online so cashless and delivered.

Can't blame the pub for trying to make money, and I'm sure it's a welcome change.

Also one third want it to go on indefinitely, to the end of the year if necessary. Not sure where they conducted the poll but clearly a lot of thick people in the sample!

They will while their at home getting paid, when the money stops people will go back to work.

The Independant reports that two thirds of people believe the lockdown was brought in too late. Hindsight is a marvellous thing and very prevalent in Liberals.

Maybe maybe not, if we had locked down when say New Zealand did then things might have been different,  but were not at 6 weeks yet and some feel it's long enough.

    Let's see what Boris says@5pm

No, I didn't go shooting, but that was because we weren't allowed on the land, which is not the case now.

People are green laning, off road cycling, horse riding, walking, running, dog walking, and none are putting themselves or anyone else at risk. The only reason the couple still swimming go very early in the morning is because they know they will get the inevitable finger waggers , even though they aren't doing anything more extreme than those doing any of the above. Common sense.

First part, It kind of is, we're being told don't travel unless its essential, was it you said some farmers have got the virus or someone else?

I'll agree with the second part mostly,  there are loads of people out walking near my house, way more than normal,  but I think that's because folk aren't travelling so going for a local walk.

Can't see how anyone should be green laning, that's a definite no no, I would even say horse riding doesn't need to be happening,  but its quiet and people are off work so unless there is a real clampdown then people will still head out.

Personally I've not been out unless its work or shopping,  an hours walk each day avoiding other folk, it's not hard is it, stay home.

Foot and mouth was an agricultural disease spreading via livestock and the land - completely different - try growing up a bit. lol.

And this is spread by people going out and kills some of them!! Hense don't go out.

yes i shot twice during foot and mouth at the request of both farmers in a clear area but still with a complete clean down before and after and show the same common sense when going out now since day one i have not been closer than twenty feet to anyone when shooting unlike being forced into endless contact when undertaking shopping and such like when at home

    Cheers.

  6. I can't believe people are still saying but shooting or fishing on your own is fine, it probably would be but everyone has been told essential travel only, so food shopping,  work, medical needs. What else is there really?

Not one of the "we will be on our own in a field " brigade has yet answered,  what did you do during foot and mouth? Did you still go shooting?

As for busy shops, just dont go in, all the shops I have been to have mostly been making people wait to go in, I went in a large Tesco this week,  some people were following the one way system and some werent, so you keep out of peoples way.

Probably another 3 weeks of this yet.

Well that now comes to my second point the squirrel feeder is used to feed the song birds and when the opportunity to take a squirrel presents itself I’ll take it.

im guessing that’s not allowed either?

There are probably thousands of feeders being used to bring grey squirrels to a safe point to be shot, for red squirrel conservation,  tree damage prevention and preventing song bird predation.

No reason why you can't shoot greys in your garden so long as all the usual safety rules are being followed.

  8. Morning Drummer, you could change you squirrel feeder to s flip top feeder that would stop the Jackdaws

If there a problem on normal bird feeders try boxing them in with large ish mesh, the smaller birds will flit straight through while the bigger birds watch on.

The Prime Minister takes paternity leave in the middle of a national crisis? Oh well... I suppose any farmer who has stock to feed and land to sow,; or any small business owner with clients and customers to serve; or any self-employed tradesman with jobs to get on with must have more on his plate that he can't find a way to give himself a couple of weeks paternity leave.

    Wondering where you where.

So where does it say Boris is having two weeks off? The only thing I've seen says he will be taking paternity leave later in the year.

The only people I can imagine not being at the birth of their child would be servicemen stationed away from home.

Can't believe he spent the day with his wife and new baby, shocking.

And this is why I'm glad I don't have to wear a fit tested mask in work,  never mind having to shave every day.

"More than 26,000 people have died with coronavirus in the UK, making it the second worst-hit country in Europe, new figures have shown.

A total of 26,097 people have now died after contracting CV-19, according to government data which included deaths in care homes and the wider community as well as hospitals for the first time."

But it's all nothing to be unhappy about because Boris Johnson has had a baby. Wow! Man has sex with woman. Woman gets pregnant. Nine months later a baby is born.

And yet somehow in all this carnage of CV-19 with people dying, businesses failing, jobs being lost "woman has baby nine months after getting pregnant" is newsworthy because it is Johnson's?

Another woman had a baby. Ten days ago. Mary Ageiwaa Agyapong. Doing her job. Google her if you don't know. And then think on the matter.

Boris Johnson couldn't even be bothered to attend six COBRA meetings at which CV-19 was being discussed.

But so what! Boris Johnson has had baby. Wow! As Sir John Junor was want to say. "Pass the sick bag".

    Wow!

Rather a lot of people die every year, so who do we blame those?

You can see my good self in the ppe below which is commensurate with the risk in relation of patient contact.

I have resisted from involving myself in many threads as it is Covid 24/7 for me in work at a covid red patient clinical assessment site at present and for the foreseen.

    Happy reading!

Two Q’s there Mice I guess?

    1. Pricewise : 15p x 100 equals £15 divided by two equals £7.50 for 50 so more expensive than .22 LR  generally.

    2. Performance : Who knows !

    .

Cheers, seems strange if there dearer than 22LR but you'll be able to use them in places that LR isn't suitable I imagine.

    Anyway moving forward

if the wearing of masks is requested of the public in the uk

    which is the best one?
what’s the life expectancy of one?
what’s the proper procedures for putting on and taking off?
do we need gloves as well?
I'm sure there’s many people that are uncertain about the correct procedures and I’m sure there’s a member with the appropriate knowledge that could help

absolutely no point in having it if it’s not used correctly

We use several different types in work, from basic dust masks to face fitted hoods with air filtration,  there really are loads of different types out there.

In another thread, it was said that in Japan people wear masks because they wouldn't want to spread something such as a cold, not to prevent them catching something.

@7daysinaweek tell us how you take off your ppe mate.

And now a further excuse for avoiding public scrutiny that is long overdue by now saying he'll miss today's PMQs.

Talking about PMQ'S I quite like the house being almost empty,  you can hear what's being said, and there isn't any childish heckling and booing when people speak.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Phew ! Nearly 15p a shot, hardly plinking ammo.

Gonna have to run a few of these just to see what they're like.

Obviously dearer than standard pellets,  but I bet they put a smile on your face.

How does that compare with 22LR ammo?
