  1. Just cracked open a bottle of my home brew....
  2. I shoot at SE Cheshire clay club and also at West Midlands Shooting Ground.... Peely
  3. Thankyou Mr Potter, One shoot date a month being lost is better than two shoot dates a month (if you see what I mean...). Still a shame as the Barthomly shoot was a good ground. Peely

What a pair of half wits..
  5. Thanks for the responses guys, I might have a drive down there when the weather warms up a little.... Happy shooting
  6. Hi Beretta, Is Llandegla a members only club or is it open to anybody to shoot there. Do you know if they have 'delay release' traps for solo shooters? Thanks Peely
  7. Thanks Mr Potter, If you can find out about the Yellow Broom shoot it would be good. Thanks Peely
  8. Thanks Mr Potter, It is the shoot run by John Brookes that is closing down (Radway). I believe that the shoot at Barthomly on the 3rd Sunday is still on. I'm a bit confused by your note - is the Mouldsworth shoot closing too?? Thanks Peely
  9. If you could find out for me it would be good. I have a flier for the shoot but it is about 2 years old... Thanks
  10. I've heard a rumour today that my local clay shooting club is going to stop running due to increased land rent cost. (SE Cheshire clay shoot at Alsager) So I'm on the look out for a new shoot... Has anybody on here heard of or been to the Mouldsworth Clay shoot near to Delamere in Cheshire? I think that it is on the first Sunday of the month. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks Peely
  11. Well, how did the day go guys? Do you have pic's? Peely
  12. All of the above and - enjoy it!!! When you are stood on the peg it will be obvious if the bird is yours or not. Very good tip about taking a bottle for the owner/keeper. Make sure you thank them for the day at the end. One thing I would add is to make sure you ask which way the drive is going to come from and make sure you know where the beaters are - nothing worse than being covered in pellets.... ATB and let us know how you got on... Peely
  13. I know how you feel tommo. The shoot that I beat on isn't on today, we've got our last outing for the year next Saturday. I couldn't help feeling like I was bored today. Great seeing the lad all day though...
  14. Nice cool glass of Erdinger (in a 'dinger glass of course) whilst sat in the conservatory looking at my garden
  15. Sorry Webber, Typing error on my message. Should have read what price would you charge the dealer per pigeon? Thanks Peely
  16. Sorry I can't help with a game dealer, but just out of interest what sort of price would you charge a dealer per pigeon??? Thanks Peely
  17. We've been doing these holidays as a weekend break for a number of years. Can't beat them for value, it usually cost more in petrol than the accomadation does!!! Get on it
  18. I can't really offer any advice, but I am interested in the responses as Toolmaker is my trade too... Could be quite interesting Good Luck
  19. I think the bike is a good idea to start you off and build some endurance up. It might be worth trying a bit of swimming too this should increase you lung capacity quite a bit. My sport used to be cycling and the best bit of advice I would give is to run 'little and often' rather than one big run once a week. That way your muscles and body are getting used to the exercise more often. Make sure that you have a rest day inbetween each session though, or do a nice steady cycle ride on your rest day, just to spin the lactic acid from your muscles. One last point, don't forget to stretch your muscles before and after each run. Not only will this help to warm your legs up before a run but it will also help to remove some of the acid in your legs that will make them ache the next day. I would suggest, calves, quads, hamstrings as a minimum stretch routine. ATB, let us know how the training goes. PS. If it gets tough, imagine yourself crossing the finish line with a big grin on your face.....
  20. Its a shame really, of all the dealings I had with Paul I found him to be a top bloke. I couldn't fault him for organising these mini driven days. Contacts like him are useful.... If any of his mates are still on here can you wish him all the best from me. Thanks Peely
  21. I was given a bird feeder stand as a Christmas present this year, at first I wasn't too impressed. However, I assembled it and put it up over the weekend and am really enjoying having it. Its great to see the different birds coming on to it already. I think I will be down the local garden centre over the weekend stocking up on different feeds!!! On the subject of the water, its amazing how fast the water is freezing over at the moment. ATB for the new year everybody

Don't really know, I doubt I could do it again....

    woodcock

I shot my first woodcock yesterday and plucked and drew it today. Have I really fu*cked up by drawing the bird or will there still be enough flavour in the meat? I am planning everything as above apart from the innards bit (must admit that I didn't fancy the trail when I was plucking it) Thanks Peely
  24. Try looking in the 'shooting available' section. There is a small syndicate advertised there. Peely
