  1. What caustic solution are you using , where from , cost? Results look very good.
  2. I find this thread very ,very , worrying . Steel when compared to Lead loaded cartridges are not cheap ! Steel is not as effective as Lead in Game shooting . The BASC Try Non-Toxic loads is not a fair test when comparing using clays , let us see how effective in a true comparison on Game days . Not enough is being done for small bores and quite frankly I think Conor is doing a very poor job fielding our concerns to the questions asked by BASC's members.
  3. Did any of you see BBC1 Panorama last night ? United Utilities were featured and questioned about the amount of raw sewage that they discharged into our Lakes, Rivers, Streams , Rivers , and Waterways, it was highlighted the amount of lack of action that the Environment Agency took over these alarming sewage discharges . Environment Agency an agency directly related to the Health and Safety Executive , the very same agency tasked with phasing out Lead Ammunition which has negligable recorded incidents of environmental harm and injury .
  4. I can supply these and SxS handguards for 12's, 20's & 28 bores . Have you tried raising your left thumb (gloved hand) higher up the side of the left barrel?
  5. Guys , We have (9) nine more days to reply to the HSE consultation, get writing in and let them know your opinion please.
  6. jall25 , With over 40 years of involvement with BASC I can assure you I am NOT a moaner . But experiencing the manoeuvering of John Swift and DR.John Harradine over this Lead shot fiasco has left me sceptical as to whether BASC are really representing the shooting community effectively. As I have pointed out on various occasions there are far more harmful components being distributed into the environment than a naturally occurring item such as Lead . Perhaps we should focus first upon Plastics and Polymers?
  7. I will be interested in seeing Conor's reply to the above post! Interestingly , what will happen to BASC when we have all been forced to give up our guns and countrysports????????
  8. Are there any plans to stop the sale of Lead flashing in the Building Trade? Will HSE be removing Lead from Church roofs ? Will the HSE be mining all the extensive Lead deposits from sites excavated since before Roman times that have left Lead contaminated spoil in our communities? Will the HSE be removing all Lead piping that still carries our domestic water supplies ? Just a few questions I would like answered before turning my attention to wiping out the historic British Gun Trade and country sports.
  9. Soaking for a few days in diesel oil, penetrating oil or Plus Gas should help , try heating the outside of the barrel choke area with a heat gun SHOULD free a tight choke . Failing all those efforts you could resort to using either a lefthanded tap of the correct diameter or a left handed reamer.
  10. Centrepin, Good point, also if Lead is so toxic to use as ammunition why on Earth do BASC promote , and charge us to try non lead ammunition and yet at Game Fairs and shooting events where people have paid for tuition BASC use lead ammunition? The whole affair is political appeasement and flawed science to bend us over to quiet the objectors who actually could not care less about the environment, they just wish to ban guns and shooting sport in any way they can.
  11. Once again an interesting topic about totally useless and ineffective ammunition to appease the 'Ban Lead Shot Party ' . I'm a simple chap, may I ask a simple question please? If Ducks and Birds die from picking up Lead shot , and we will eventually ban Lead shot what will happen to the tons of lead shot deposited on our land, lakes, and rivers will it miraculously disappear overnight ?
  12. My Neighbor has had Smart Meters fitted and his bills have soared! Now I have Eon telling me I HAVE to have Smart meters fitted ? No thank you.
  13. I watched a film today about making chrystal glass tumblers . The glass used to make chrystal glassware uses TONS of red lead . Will glass be banned next ?
  14. No one ever seems to comment about plastic wads in the environment?
