What a disgrace that people are shooting huge bags of ducks on the Lough, if they're that hungry for a shot, go shoot a few rounds of clays or go find a field full of crows, I've shot the Lough for many years and never needed to shoot big bags, unfortunately there's always some morons!
-
Great vid, that makes me want to rush down to the Lough for evening flight!
-
I had one of these a few years ago, super gun, a bargain for someone
-
Still no pigeons here either, normally I'd be shooting some good bags roost shooting, on the plus side the duck shooting is fantastic the last couple of weeks, and although I don't shoot them, snipe numbers are through the roof this winter

4 dirty greyback crows

On the bank deadbaiting its 18lb bs daiwa sensor, its bomb proof! 50lb bs braid for deadbaiting in the boat, 100lb bs braid for big swimbaits and 65lb braid for jerkbaits from the boat and 30lb shockleader for a cast for pike flyfishing

I seen a Canada on the lough a couple of weeks ago for the first time, Fermanagh is full of them though, the only one I'm missing is a pintail drake, shot two ducks one morning and missed the drake! -

Nice video and nice bag, great to see some wigeon featuring, we get very few but we are seeing more shovelers the last couple of years -
Seen a few flighting woodcock last week in the evenings and plenty of snipe but still no pigeons, the lough still high but can make it to a couple of hides
-
Very quiet, I wud normally be shooting roosting pigeons now but nothing around and can't get near our hides on the lough, have shot a few ducks on floods but there's way too much water around to concentrate them into one area
-
I love the look of them, and was very close to buying a pro sporter with adjustable stock a couple of years ago as my clay gun but at the last minute I fell for a new 525 Gold Sporter, though I still look at them when I'm in the gun shop!

Iso are great boots, very comfortable but too warm for a days walking, I use mine in winter in the boat when pike fishing, be aware that I've had 3 pairs of varios in 2.5 years, I wear them everyday for working the dogs but the last 2 pairs have split where the sole meets the boot. The shop just replaced them with a new pair, the pair I have now have a new type of sole so time will tell how long they last!

Very true, used to fish a water that had very little angling pressure and done very well on it then after a couple of years word got out and its now a shadow of itself and I wudnt waste my time on it

I know all the horror stories about big bags of ducks being shot on the lough and don't agree with it, if anyone is that desperate to pull the trigger so much, go find a field of crows or go to a clay shoot! If for instance clubs let out say a 1000 birds, between them then that can only be a bonus!
-
The first year nothing used them but 3 that were placed back from the shore in natural inlets were used
-
Still seeing pigeons on barley stubble, not massive numbers but wud be worth putting the hide up and a few deeks out
-
We put 20 tubes out a couple of years ago but unfortunately lost most of them in the massive floods last February. Anyone who knows the lough will know how rough it can get
-
That's great to hear, I wish it was the same on the lough, even if every club put out 100 mallard it would make some difference!
-
Somebody must be releasing mallard on the lough, I'd a drake the other week with a ring made out of black conduit, interestingly my mate shot a mallard last year on the lough that had been ringed in Co.Monaghan
