  1. Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and have some questions to ask if you don't mind helping me. I have moved to the UK 2 years ago from Malta to continue my medical training and work here as a doctor. In Malta I used to practice shooting for birds and rabbits. Now that I'm settled here I would like to get into the shooting practice in the UK. Can you please tell me what do I need to do step by step please? I understand that I need to have a club membership and be insured (ex: BASC membership) to practice, and having a shotgun certificate if I decide to own my shotgun. Regarding the general licence, do I need to do some sort of application against a payment? Then all I need is to get a permission to access land and shoot or join a syndicate (which is most probably the hardest to achieve). Right? All help is appreciated guys. Thanks a lot Gary
  2. Hi guys, Been looking to start shooting my .22 air rifle around Rye in East Sussex, there is plenty of rabbits, woodie and feral pigeons around but I do not know anyone down here. If anyone is local, I'd be glad for some help or a chat at one of Rye's many pubs cheers
  3. Hello all, I'm new to this site and wanted to say hi. I've been shooting firearms / shotguns for a few years, and an a recent air rifle convert - have just bought a .22 BSA R10 mk 2. It's a beautiful little gun! Look forward to chatting and learning loads more about air rifle shooting... Cheers Craig.
  4. Good afternoon all, I'm looking to join a Wildfowling club in or near Ipswich, Suffolk. The two I have come up with are the North Suffolk Wildfowlers and Colchester Wildfowlers. As I have said in my welcome post a few days ago I haven't been shooting that long (about 8 or 9 months) and what I'm looking for is a club that will be welcoming to a new shooter who may not know all of the ins and outs of Wildfowling. I have had a brief email chat with the NSW but nothing was really mentioned to the helping of a new shooter. (well that's how I read it). So I'm posting on here to hopefully find and talk to some members of each of the clubs so I can see which would be best for me i.e. travel, cost, Friendly members etc.. Many thanks Yogi
