  1. Hello all. I'm new to pigeon Watch and just trying to navigate through the site on this phone... 🤦🏼‍♂️ Here's a little about me. My name is Adam, 33, married, I have a dog, no kids, I work in the a Dementia specialist care home. I love the country, dogs, camping, shooting, motorcycles, metal detecting, photography & my truck! I have been shooting for about a year, and would really like to get into Decoying! I have had the idea of starting decoying since just after I started shooting, but finding my own permissions have been challenging, as I'm sure your all aware. Since this lockdown I have spent more time than I am willing to calculate watching the Fieldsports & Shooting Channel, watching the likes of Andy Crow, George Digweed, Geoff Garrod take on the pigeon population. Id like to give something back to my local(ish) farmers and help them with the pest problem, and crop protection. I live in Bedfordshire, and have lived here my whole life. My wife and I enjoy travelling up and down England camping, we both love the outdoors. I have been metal detecting for a few years with my local club, and enjoy researching the stuff I find. I have been doing photography for more than a decade, as a hobby, but I have done weddings for friends and family, and birthday parties, but my ultimate enjoyment is photographing wildlife and the countryside. I look forward to chatting with you all, and hopefully be able to contribute to this forum, and my community.
  2. Hello all. I'm hoping to be able to find someone I can go decoying with. I'll start with a short'ish intro as I'm new here. My name is Adam, 33, married, I have a dog, no kids, I work in the a Dementia specialist care home. I love the country, dogs, camping, shooting, motorcycles, metal detecting, photography & my truck! I have been shooting for about a year, and would really like to get into Decoying! I have had the idea of starting decoying since just after I started shooting, but finding my own permissions have been challenging as I'm sure your all aware. I have been offered to tag along with a chap, but our work/free time schedules haven't lined up as yet, so I'm hoping to broaden my chances by reaching out here. I live in Bedfordshire, and am happy to travel to surrounding counties and further if need be. If there is anyone willing to take on a very eager, very helpful, punctual, trustworthy individual, I'd be delighted to lend a helping hand - when this lockdown is over... Please, feel free to ask any questions.
  3. Hi All, I am a new shooter based in central Bedfordshire. I have been shooting clays for just over a year and at this point am 95% self taught. I’m loving my new hobby, however being a young (20) first generation shooter is proving to have its challenges. I felt slightly too inexperienced to get myself onto a game shoot last season, however I am hoping to get myself onto a game shoot or 2 next year. Only issue with this, and this is a bit of a confession on this forum, I’ve never killed anything. The thought of it doesn’t bother me and morally I have no problem with doing it, however I am well aware that a shoot field is not the place to suddenly discover that I dislike shooting game. Are there any shooters in the area who would take me out to shoot a few wood pigeons of an afternoon? I think pigeons would be a much safer way to get myself into game shooting, and would highly highly appreciate if there is anyone who would give me a hand with that. look forward to hear from you. Many thanks. Tom
  4. Hi There, I have an Acorn Clay Trap for sale. It has hardly been used and is in good condition. It was purchased brand new a few years ago but i haven't really used it much. This device can be operated with just one person and has a long cable for triggering clays. I also have 500 standard sized clays that will throw in aswell. I have included some pictures, please excuse the quality and lack of professionalism. I am looking for £260 ONO. Any questions please ask. Thanks
  5. Just come back from the newly opened/ newly managed Broomhills. Still in the process of being built, but i was very impressed. Already have seven stands open, with that set to increase in the coming months. The paths between the stands have all been re done so its less muddy which is a bonus! There is shooting now going out onto the fields behind the woods behind the club house. High towers are operational again for two stands. There is a promatic card system, so delay option available for solo shooters. People there seem friendly too.. The shop has all been re done, new windows and entrance etc... Quite a number of new/ s-h o/u &s/s available to buy. Bulk cartridge deals available too, limited clothing stock and various cleaning accessories etc... Saturday rate is 40p a clay, weekday rate 30p a clay. Members rate is 28p a clay for weekdays and weekends. Membership they said was £150, but if you can join with someone else, you can get for £100 each. So potentially might join if someone else wants to here... Apparently when you join you get option of 100 free clays or a lesson...
