  1. Hi guys, I am part of a small self managed rough shoot in Henly-in-Arden. We have 2 possibly 3 guns available for next season. We have a few work parties in the off season to manage the land and prepare for the new birds so willingness to help out is appreciated but not required. We also have access to the land all year round for vermin shooting. Roughly 300 acres. You would also be expected to help with the feeding and topping up feeders in certain areas throughout the year once the birds are in place. Unless you pay for gun only. We normally put down 100 ducks and 100-150 pheasant each year and shoot 10 days through the season. Of which we have 6-7 self driven/beaten drives a day. Our bags are anywhere from 2 to 20 birds so not huge but fun. We are also located in the middle of 3 other surrounding large shoots so often get a-lot of spill over. Ideally you would also have a dog to assist with the beating. We are a nice mixed bunch of guys that enjoy being out on the farm. The price for a gun and assisting with work parties and feeding is £400. The price for just a gun with no work parties or feeding is £500. Let me know if your interested at all. We are also looking for beaters or people with dogs. Our shoot is also ideal for training your dog as we are all relaxed and would be grateful for having the dog with us. Thanks Nick.
  2. Hi Guys and Girls. I fully understand this is a risky topic to bring up as permission for free land is usually earned through trust. For months and Months now I've been searching for some local Farm land to Pigeon Shoot on. I've been places with friends but they're no longer accepting any more shooters. I'm a keen shooter with a decent shot and I go Clay Shooting 2/3 times a week but I'm looking for land for a peaceful evening/weekend shoot when I just want to unwind from a week at work. Is there anyone from around Walsall area that's willing to let me tag along and show/prove my enthusiasm to the sport rather than me sounding like a desperate lad who just wants to "Kill some birds on an evening"? Cheers, TheLurchmeister *If this post is in the wrong forum, please feel free to move to more allocated position*
  3. Hi guys, I've been on pigeon watch a long time and have bought/sold and generally joined in. I am a previous FAC holder which I revoked when I changed careers due to having no time to get to the club (unforgivable, I know). I have now been granted my shotgun licence and I have bought a couple of guns. I am 26, I am a health, safety, quality and environment consultant by trade and I live in Coleshill, Warwickshire with my girlfriend and my retired racing greyhound! I am currently looking for any bits of shooting that the nice people on this forum could provide - some land to get used to my new guns would be appreciated and some nice pigeon or rabbit shoots would be most appreciated. I'm new to the shotgun side of things so I am willing to learn although I picked a fair bit up whilst holding my FAC and using .22lr. Anyway nice to meet you all and let me know! I drive so distance is not an issue for the invaluable land and experience. Thanks
