foggy11
Went to have a look at some fields of cut maize on friday afternoon..... Were quite a lot of birds flying over an established flight line and dropping into the corner of one field.... Watched them for an hour or so and then left hoping they would do the same the next day.... Saturday......woke up early so thought i mite aswell go and have a look, got to the field at about 9.30 and glassed the fields to see a few birds dropping into the corner again......the wind was picking up all the time so decided to set up along the bottom of the field with the wind from left to right.... Set out 20 flocked shells and a magnet with hypa flappers at the front of a wide u..... Shot 3 within 40 minits so put 2 on the magnet and then put it at the back, outside of the pattern and added a flapper at the front..... From here on it got quite frantic and as more dead birds were added, every bird that entered the field came in to have a look.... The wind had got to about 30 mph by now so it made for some very interesting shots , although it meant the birds had to commit..... Dried up about 3.30 so packed away..... 44 casualties for 66 shells.....so quite pleased with that......dog worked well for a 12 year old springer.....all shot with 1/2 choke in a Bennelli M2....
