Paddy Galore!
hello, when you said too big, take it you mean too long. can you change the butt pad? if this doesn't do it then you'll have to cut it down i'm afraid. this will mean re finishing the stock again but shouldn't cost anything more than your time. Hope this helps.
al4x
as its only an escort you could get your chainsaw out and lop the end off and hey presto no problem

George1990
The only way you're going to get it shorter is by chopping the end off. Either fork out for Mr gun smith to do it or have a bash yourself. Bit risky
davethesmith
recon a decent wood saw and bit of sand paper would do the job just go steady, would take no notice of those guys who own them egg fu yung shot guns who think your escorts **** they are probably gunless and jealous or on hp

PaulABF
Jay, if it's only 3 inches that need removing, cut it off at two inches (always go slightly less as you can always take away more) and use the end cut-off to trace the profile of the original butt end onto the remaining stock. Slight sandpaper, refit butt plate or pad and bobs your uncle.
apache
Can I suggest a fine toothed pull saw? Easy to control and nice fine finish.
