Hewey
Hi All, Has anyone used Bornagi (excuse spelling) steel cartridges. Can't find anywhere local that stocks RC Steels which I used last year to great effect. Tried Express and a few others last year but found the RC's or Remington to be the best although the RC's where half the price of the Remi's. MC
Hi Hewey, Give Essex Shooting Supplies at Easthorpe a try, I was in there on tuesday and they had RC steel on the shelf. I have used Boraghi Steel cartridges in 1 1/4oz loads of 1's and they were good and hard hitting.
Hewey
Hi MC, Thanks for that, must admit haven't been over to Johnathons for quite some time since I got a load of shells that were rusty. Don't like the way he keeps them in thoses outside containers, think they must get damp. Also he was giving me 10p a pigeon where I now get 25p elsewhere. May give it a go as a last resort. Thanks H
MC
Hewey, What do you want steel for? If it for Ducks on a pond or over decoys you will have to go a long way to beat Express Supreme Steel. Although these are only loaded in a size 4 shot. I know what you mean about the cartridges being stored outside but I have not had any issues for a long time. He has just had a delivery of RC's as well as they had just been unloaded when I got there on tuesday.
busbiter
Hi Hewey, I am sure they would have taken the cartridges back at easthorpe if they were rusty. Only problem I have had with cartridges off of them before was misfires on some RC 16's I bought earlier this year, they did say they would have gladly taken them back and exchanged but I kept hold of them and shot them when it was a bit warmer and they seemed fine. It was a particularly cold day when I had the problems with the misfires so wonder if that was a contributing factor. Not sure if they stock bornaghi cartridges or not but they do usually hold a decent stock of RC's so sure they would order in the steels that you used last year if they did not have them in stock. Hewey
Hi MC, Yep they are for ducks over ponds, I have tried the Express before but personally found the RC's to be better. Busbiter, yep sure he would of taken them back but it just put me off to be honest. May give him a ring and see what he has. Hewey
Hi All, Just to let you know I ended up buying some BORNAGHI 36G Steels from Alan at Eastern Sporting. Tried them out on the Ducks on Saturday and I have to say they performed very well indeed. Took some really good birds with them. If your after a non-toxic cheapish shell then I would recommend giving these a go. Hewey

The last lot I got were from Malmo guns in Lancashire. How much were from Eastern sporting?
Hewey
Starlight, For a 36g shell they didn't seem to have that much recoil in fact I was surprised they were as smooth as they were, I was expecting a lot more kick. Think they were only £5.95 a box although can't remember exactly as bought quite a few others at the time. Hewey
