  1. Have now purchased a 3 shot hushpower pump. may still be interested in an O/U if one comes up though.
  2. Hi, Cheers yes did see that one but just a bit too far away from me and want to physically see the gun before purchase rather than sending to a RFD.
  3. Hi All, Looking to get a 20 bore huspower. I’m located in Essex but prepared to travel for right gun. Cheers Hewey
  4. All chokes now sold. Sorry

  5. Sorry Steve, these went ages ago.

  6. Hi, Give a Nissan Terrano or Ford Maverick a look, had my old R Reg. Terrano now for nearly 3 years, is equally as good as as my previous 53 Reg. Discovery TD5 off road. Only routine servicing in that time, never put a foot wrong, sailed through last 2 MOT's too. It's a SWB 2.4i Petrol, only use it on odd weekends and only for shooting, stgill get about 26 mpg.
  7. Maybe they've changed them since I last tried them but when I used a fair few of them on Pigeons I found them to have a lot more recoil than the Sipe's, thought the Sipe's killed better too.
  8. Give RC Sipe's a go, I think they are one of the best cartridges out there currently. Have used Black Golds and they are ok but do give quite a bit of recoil. For a lighter load Express World Cup in 6.5's are quick and good killers.
  9. Hi, I find Blackgold kick quite a bit more than RC's. If I'm not using RC Sipe's then i use Express World Cup in 6.5's only 28g but a very good cartridge, very quick and also a bit cheaper than the RC's. Hewey
  10. Yes the Earlier Maverick is the same as the Terrano. I've had a T2 2.4 Petrol R reg. for 2 years now only use it for shooting/fishing, it's fantastic off road better I would say than the 3 discovery's I had before it (probably as its a SWB). Never put a foot wrong, starts first time every time, get about 25mpg and thats virtually all backroads and fields.
  11. Got to Agree, I've had 3 Discovery's in the past, a 300 Tdi, a Series II 4.0 V8 and a 53 Plate TD5 Auto. Due to change in circumstances I needed to get some cash so sold the Disco, bought a normal car and an old R Reg. Nissan Terrano. It's great had it 2 years sailed through both MOT's and goes better off road than my Discovery's. OK it's SWB so that helps. Only had to repair the Fan resistor in the time I've had it and give it a service. They do lean a little but are a great vehicle for off roading. With the Rear seat down in mine there's loads of room. Hewey
  12. Hi Malk, No worries. see what he has to say and let me know. Rgds Hewey
  13. Hi Malk, Must admit gotta agree with Mungler, the other one does look better, know it's more money but worth the extra, even so the TD5 is nowhere near as reliable as the previous generation 300 Tdi, lots more electrics (especially on the ES Model) there's also the problem with oil contamination in the wiring loom which can cost a lot to replace as well as all the air suspension. Yes the TD5 is better to drive than the older models but not sure I'd want an older one (Mine was a 53 Plate bought from LR with only 30K on the clock and I had lots of problems with it) If he's only looking at spending a little money then rather than going for a Disco TD5 with over 150K miles I'd advise he goes for a late low Mileage 300 Tdi model. Otherwise get a lower spec. Td5 which would be newer and have less miles. Getting one without a Sunroof will also save a lot of swearing about the leaks!!! Whereabouts are you in the country? By all means if he is set on this one then I will try and get to have a look at it but I'd spend my money elsewhere. Hewey
  14. Hi Mate, I'm not that far from Bardfield, in fact I shoot over that way during the season. Can't seem to get the link to the Discovery to work, can you check it out an repost it. May be able to get over there Wednesday on the way home from work as I work at Stansted (depending on time etc.). Sort of know the basic's on the Disco's as have had 1 300Tdi, 1 Series 2 4.0 V8 and a 53 Plate TD5 but I'm far from an expert. Hewey
  15. Hi, Yes do break the wings, always make sure they are well broken, not sure why they stopped working. As for the type, they were from the Site Sponsor UK Shootwarehouse, had then a little while though. they do work continually, though don't get used loads out of my other 2 one has started to run very slowly so reckon that's about to fail too.
  16. Hi Stubby, Well that was going to be my next step, just thought I'd ask to see if anyone had already repaired one. Cheers H.
  17. Hi All, I currently have 2 of my 4 Electronic flappers out of action, anyone know what motors they use. Cheers Hewey
  18. The Best 20 Gauge for under a £1000.. Easy Question..... The one that fits you best I had a Beretta Silver Pigeon III, couldn't shoot for toffee with it, sold it after trying a few others and ended up with a cheaper BSA Regent, yep not got the quality of the Beretta but I shoot very well with it. Go and try a few, don't discount cheaper models just because of the name, otherwise you might miss out on your ideal gun. Hewey
  19. Another vote for Gary at TD5 Alive. Top Bloke he did my 53 plate TD5 Auto, what a difference it made and saved about 10% on fuel too.
  20. Nissan Terrano or Ford Maverick, Should be able to get a good one for a grand, bought mine 18 months ago for £1350 with only 48k on the clock, went straight through last MOT, and off road is very good indeed. (and I had 3 discovery's previously)

  22. Hi Mungler, To be honest you can't go wrong with a Panasonic, I've had my 42" Viera for 2 or 3 years now, still a good picture and no problems at all. I got mine from John Lewis as they used to give a 5 year Warranty, also they pricematched other stores, infact I got them to price match an internet price so may be worth asking the question for Warranty peace of mind alone. Think mine was something like £2750 in their store at the time, got it for £2100. I'd probably go for a 50" if I were you, they look massive at first but you soon get used to them, my 42" seems small now, actually I've moved it into my Bedroom. Good Luck. Hewey
  23. I had a V8 Series II Disco before the TD5 so the TD5 seemed guttless by comparison, the remap made it a completely different motor. Gave me the same if not better performance than my mates 3.2 LWB Shogun. Worth every penny in my book.
  24. Hi, I had a TD5Alive remap on my 53 plate Auto when I had it, it made so much difference to it it was like driving a completly different vehicle, I would hightly recommend it. Not only was it a lot quicker it added about 2mpg average. As for the EGR kit, I actually bought one from Gary at TD5 Alive but never actually got round to fitting it, so it will probably go on Ebay soon. Speak with Gary and he will advise on the correct filter to use, some of them can damage the MAF sensor due to excess oil on them so be careful. Rgds Hewey
