Devilishdave
Going to make a week end of it I think one day on the clays with my m8s and the other with the wife going round the stands. and watching demmos might even enter the mutt! Last year the clays was quite big concern a m8 of mine was leading on the saturday but got piped on the sunday. It is a very show 70,000 last year I think Dave

paulos
well, the weather stayed fine i did find it quite expensive though, £13.50 and we were only going for the shoot! maybe something for the organisers to think about next year. when the shoot and the shooters car park is completely seperate from the actual show, why charge to get in? £12.00 for a 40 bird, not at all bad value by game fair prices, but when added to the unnecessary entrance fee, it was a bit much. also dissapointed to see so many top-shot pot-hunters there. kevin mayor, you know who you are show was pretty small, but it can only get better all that aside, good day, but roll on the Midland!!!! HAMMY
Surprised to hear your dissapointed, aren't they all expensive? used to be a good enough show!!! I haven't been for a few years though!! The clays used to be tough if it blew. Hammy
Devilishdave
Not a bad day and a few testing clays. Its not the CLA or Midland but still takes a day to get round everything if you shoot, watch or enter a few dogs and watch a few of the centre arena demos. Even saw HRH Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh (or Phil the greek) at 84 years old he was flying round the carrage driving fair play to the blunt one!! webber
Went on Sunday, weather glorious. I had not been for a few years, and was looking forward to an excellent array of shooting opportunities as I remembered from my previous visits. Some of the clays were very testing, but there did seem to be something lacking. As I remember, the shooting was organised by Penrith gun club, and was excellent. The clays on this visit were arranged by a company Claytargets Ltd. There were testing clays, well trapped and cards marked etc, just something lacking from how I remembered it. The actual show seemed to have improved from a shooters point of view with regards to trade stands. I purchased a brilliant Deerhunter rucksack with built in seat, which is exactly the right height, and will be ideal for roost shooting. Unfortunateley, on my return home I discovered that one of the zips is faulty, and it seems like a load of bother to try and get it fixed, so I think that some velcro will do. I will go again, I will shoot there again, but my expectations and anticipation will not be quite so great. webber
Lurch
I tell you what, with the stupid bloody 'Potfest' snarl up at the auction roundabout and the incompetent stewards too busy drinking beer to direct traffic and a monumental queue to get in - I felt like turning around and going home. Delighted to find my warnings of a mud bath wholly unjustified though.
