al4x
at a guess roundworms, get the drontal as said then its worth thinking about using a flea / worm treatment like stronghold, well worth the extra money over frontline as it also gets ear mites and heart worms etc, then every 3 months a simple drontal plus wormer to hit tape worms. Talk to your vet as ideally you want to get the dog onto a programme as soon as you can.

The breeder should have wormed the pup before you picked him up surely
alexr
Say hallo to toxocara canis, the canine round worm. Often present at birth, but can also be transfered in mothers milk. Easy to kill take advice from your vet, Drontal works a treat. Edited November 13, 2009 by alexr

Slug
I work for a large Veterinary Group. Iam not a clinician but I have many friends that are, firstly as always you should discuss with your Veterinary Surgeon a proper parasite control protocol, I hear from the practice that Lungworm has become very prevelant, and I would advise you to speak to the Vet to get some Advocate which kills these and various other parasites, this is a spot on application and is complimentary to your oral worming, Lungworm is a devastating desease for animals, and dogs are easily infected from Snails and Slugs etc, the parasite eats it's way into the internal organs causing many distressing symptons, if not diagnosed early this will prove fatal. Hope that helps .
Paladin
Has anyone else used raw onion in their dog food? We were told years ago by a breeder that he always fed his dogs and added raw onion. We took his advice and used it for 22 years. Does it work ? or were we lucky not to see worms for over twenty years? Paladin

Paladin
how often did you give them onions for e.g every meal? or sumit? and how much? and is it ok to give it to a pup? Hi It was probably five days a week, we nearly always had a cooked meal, so chopped onion was added to the dog's dinner, about a desert spoon full was always mixed in. As for a pup I'd waite untill its had all its jabs and eating solids, avoid rich tinned food chum Tea witout sugar, good for the coat (tannin in tea) Paladin
