njc110381
If the birds are struggling then what's the problem? Best give them the best chance possible to survive for next season. I'm not sure about Canadas though, aren't they a pest?

I'm not sure about Canadas though, aren't they a pest? Not in Scotland. There is no general licence for Canada Geese here. Also it is odd that whitefronted geese appear on the list as they can't be shot in Scotland anyway! clueless1
Is this likley to be a general ban or dependent on local conditions. I've got 2 days woodcock shooting in Lewis on 11th and 12th booked last year so could be a bit of a problem. Any info appreciated. Cheers. groach1234
Okay a couple of questions: one is it just scotland? and two will it stretch to put down game birds? (a rather anxious) George
Cookiemonsterandmerlin.
Imo read my post on talk from the field thin pigeons. I think if any animail is struggling because of weather be it game wildfowl or even vermin or pest. We should leave alone and let time take its natural direction and if the animal dies or lives we will know that we have not had a hand in its death from say shooting and keeping them of there feeding area.
