60/40vinigar warm water.

also use it with liquid sugar soap50/50 water.

I'm surprised/interested that you anything but water, I clean surgical instruments with a ultra sonic bath, the point is not to use solvents/bases etc.

Dont know how much gunpowder residue you have to remove from your surgical instruments but water alone wont shift it., and a good few folk have tried it.

I'm not knocking any method old bean, I have all sorts of funny things stuck to instruments, epoxy wound glue, bone filler etc, maybe my ultra sonic bath is a bit industrial... :good:

Whats wrong with medizyme?!

And as for the ultrasonic cleaning, I used the jewelry cleaner to do the ejectors and cocking-arms on my sbs before I polished them, and even after a lot of scrubbing with bore solvent more dirt still came off in hot-water-washing-up-liquid mixture, can't knock it really but havn't done it since as I am a very lazy person.
