sitsinhedges Posted January 16, 2010 Report Share Posted January 16, 2010 I was given a fair few of these 30g no 5s last week by a generous chap and promised to chrono them for his piece of mind as he didn't seem to be knocking stuff down very well with them. Today I tried them over the chrono and was amazed to find they were only doing around 685FPS on average. I tried my home loads to double check and they were fine at 1040FPS. I hardly think they are suitable for shooting live game at a distance as they were bought for and the chap inquestion had bought 1000 of them. drut Posted January 16, 2010 Report Share Posted January 16, 2010 Although I now load my own,I still have some 32gm Eley "Hushpower" 6's,out of interest tried a couple through the chrony : 1030 & 1021fps through Pedretti.I would have thought at 685fps those cartridges would be classed as "not fit for purpose",he's lucky that you tested them before anything else gets "pricked".
