royor
I'm looking for a relatively cheap left-handed 22 semi. In spite of us left handers making up about 13% of the population, second hand gun sales seem to be less than 5% left-handed - not much choice. I've heard that a Walther G22 can be taken apart and put back together as a left-hander and have seen a couple up for sale left-handed but I've also heard nothing but shocking reviews for them. So firstly, is it true that you can do this to a G22 and secondly, are there any others that can be changed? Thirdly, if the answer to 1 or 2 is 'Yes', then do you have to buy any extra parts and is it something you can do for yourself?
jef
I bought a G22 when they first came out. Infact I ordered it specially. It looked cool and thought it would be dead handy for use out the window, especially on my own. Traded it in after about two months. Could not get it to shoot straight at all. The scope mount is plastic and easily upset. Yes it could be easily converted to left hand but I wouldn't recommend the rifle at all. Hope this helps James
sandy22
Get a Browning ATD. Bottom ejection - shoot off either shoulder without any "conversion" cr*p.
royor
James - thanks for that. I like the look of them but I think I'll give them a miss. Nobody seems to have anything good to say about them. Sandy - I've not looked at the Browning before. Looks very interesting though so cheers. Pastiebap
I bought the improved G22 and Walther seem to have ironed out all the problem. What I would say is that they are awkward to disassemble and clean, yes you could change a right hander to left, but, for the love of god don't try. Buy a left hooker if it is what you really want.
