Yes, it's not a native species :good:

 

It does look a bit like an escaped Harris Hawk, or one of that family, There's a few of them, distantly related to the Buzzard family - Red-Tailed Hawks, Swainsons Hawks etc, but I think Harris Hawks are the ones most commonly used for falconry over here. I thought they had bigger white patches on them, but you probably get a lot of variation with age etc.

 

I think Magman has seen one over the Wirral when he's been out and about. Could be the same bird, if you're in the Warrington area.

This bird was in our garden a few months ago but for the life of me dont know what it is any clues it had spear like feathers shooting back off its legs the second pic is a bit off a action one but you can see the markins if you look closely
