vole
Poach a few fish fillets for 5 minutes.I suggest a mix of white fish ie cod, coalie or whiting plus a bit of salmon or smoked fish for flavour. Break it up in the base of a baking dish. Season it really well, and pour over creme freche.Stir it a bit to get the salt and pepper into the sauce. Spoon over mashed potato and smooth it so it looks nice. Chuck it in the oven till the top is a bit browned. This is not bad at all but you must season it plenty. henry d
If you poach them in 75/25 milk/cream then you don`t need the creme fraiche, especially if you add 1/2 a squeezed lemon If you like them add a few quartered soft boiled eggs before the tattie topping ! John_R
try putting some cheap frozen prawns in as well. I'd prefer to put some decent ones in, rather than those tasteless chewy nuggets! Edited January 19, 2010 by john_r
Browning
Try adding a layer of peas between the fish and the mash.

Try adding a layer of peas between the fish and the mash. Or spinach with a sprinkle of nutmeg.
