Bedpan39
Wondered if any of you jolly lads has shot clays in Lanzarote. Going there in a couple of weeks and want to do at least one thing of interest. Mooching around the shops with 'er indoors is not the most awe inspiring thing I can think of. Bless 'er. enny ideals ? 100milesaway
Oh dear, Lanzagrotti, went once many years ago Stopped at a very nice hotel and hired a car for the week, took the car back after 3 days, sad to say it's not very scenic so nothing to go to look at. I usually find a shooting ground or two to visit but drew a blank on that as well. On the plus side you'll have a good rest. from Auntie.
paulos
Lanzarote is just a big black rock. The only grass there is on the golf course! If you look at it on google maps it looks like Mordor from Lord of the Rings.
Fatcatsplat
Went there a couple of years ago - Aside from the beaches (which are superb) you have the Fire Mountains and............er.........that's about it! Having said all that, the towns are mostly nice, the food's pretty good (There are loads of places that do not sell burger and chips!!) and there are loads of water based activities. We went with 3 kids and 2 teenagers and had a great time. Try the western night at Rancho Texas - Well worth a chuckle.
Thunderbird
No idea about a clay shoot on the island to be honest, but if you search Tripadvisor and the plethora of other travel fora you should find something. There are masses to do on Lanzarote: Mirador Del Rio Jameos del Aqua Cuevos de Los Verdes Mount Timanfaya Vineyard visits (El Grifo is the best) Arrieta's fish restaurants Teguise Old Town Sunday market Ferry to Fuertaventura for the day Deiland shopping - for the Mrs - but there is a bar in the middle where you can sit, read the paper/book and drink beer Puerto Calera Marina - great for lunch by the yachts Oasis de Nazaret - visit Lag Omar (Omar Sherrif's old house, now a restaurant) - go there same day as Teguise Sunday market if it's open That's all I can think of in two minutes. Don't let ANYONE call it Lanzagrotty, it's like judging the whole of Andalucia by Torremolinos. Or indeed the whole south of England by Weston Super Mare. Hire a car. It's a must.
