dunganick
got one, bad stuff 1st (dont worry theres not alot) my forend on my gun came loose after shooting 50 sporting, but this was becuase of the guy in the shop failing to tell us that the forend iron was stripped out. this was simple to fix, and a £20 part later its sorted, im having it fitted next month so hopefully it will fit like a glove as well then. ive used two (i had my friends one on my ticket for 4 or 5 months) and they are a fine fine gun, mechanically apart from the forend iron being made of money metal or some such it is a fine gun. one other very slight niggle is that the chambers are not cromed so tend to get a rust coloured resedue which dosent help with ejection of the cases. these are two points which given correct maintainance and care can be avoided. get some pics, it always intrests me to see how good the wood is on them, i know that the wood on the two ive shot both lanber sporters same model as yours, has been better than a grade 1 browning which is worth alot more. enjoy your gun i know LB has a lanber field, and to my knoledge has had no problems with it ******** edit just seen LB has posted, LB you have the field model, slightly different engraving and a non gold plated trigger, not that this is a bad thing *****edit just realised i made a mistake and said LB had the sporter, he has the field its all this sleep its going to my head Edited September 24, 2005 by dunganick

Other than what Dunganick has posted and that is down to poor maintenance, I think. LB
deeksofdoom
I've a lanber game 28" barrels, fixed chokes, I 've had it for about 2 years now and used it on clays and game and had no problems with it whatsoever, everytime I pull the trigger it fires what more could you ask for. The only drawbacks I find are its weight you would get tired lugging it around all day and it doesn't have ejectors which is good cos you don't have to bend over picking up cartridges all day and bad when your trying to reload quickly. I might trade it in next year for something like a medallist. Its a good starter gun.

the last engineer
Nick if you have probs with the rust in the chamber area run some dry lube in there, you'l never have it again , something like molycoat or graphite lube will work well, your lanber is not the only gun that falls foul of that problem, many other guns do, if you look at the effects, the gun goes off and hot gasses and air are still apparent in the chamber after ejection, due to temp conditions condensation will set in on the steel quickly and if not cleaned "hello rust", try the dry lube and see, i think you will be pleasantly suprised .
