Beretta28g
Hi Well today was the last day of the duck season. I was in vited on a walk round shoot by a friend of the family, four foxes were flushed and none were shot so not so good. There were a few pheasnts shot at but all wore missed. So all day we drew a blank, so dad and i wandered down to one of our permissions and tried for a gadwell flight(our first one). the birds dropped in nicley and i managed to shoot 6 including a left and a right for 14 shots. Dad shot 1, but he had about 25 shots. Picking up was my spaniels first time actually working, he worked really well and even picked a winged one off the water before it had a chance to dive. What a spectacular way to finish the duck season. My last shoot is a cock day on monday i just hope it goes as well. Beretta
fortune82
Is it not illegal to shoot pheasants on 1st Feb? I thought BASC had a thing about it in their magazine recently.

Fatcatsplat
Had a lovely walk around a friends shoot and bumped into Raja Clavata and Longshanks off here - Small world innit? Managed a couple of pheasant and my first ever woodcock - Very pleased. Nice way to finish off.

Dekers
is it not cock pheasant only on monday??? Nope! Tradition has it that 1 Feb is a day to hunt down any previously pricked birds, so it is legal for all Pheasants! True or not, who knows, but the Season finishes at 24.00 on 1.2.10.
