Albertan_J
Does anyone use a recoil pad and if they do can you recommend a good one? Would prefer something smooth thats doesnt catch to much when mounting for a shot. Thanks

Cumbrian
I use and like Kick-Eez pads, but they need to be properly fitted - can be done at home if you have a bit of judgment and patience, but take care with the removal of the excess: don't overdo it. Various sizes and styles - look them up on Google at MidwayUK and elsewhere. I've gone for a rocker pad model recently, which suits those of us with a bit of padding on the chest. You can also get pads that fit under your outer clothing, if you don't wish to alter the butt end of your gun.

Thanks i was in a local gun shop where the,the gun smith was fitting a kick eez and he had tapped the top third up and had painted a smooth compound paint (obviously specialist gear) on it then removed the tape when dry, so the advantage of a kick eez that will not stick to you while mounting the gun
Albertan_J
Thanks for the help. I'm going to have a look at both the fitted and slip on types see which one is best suited

Both me and dad and many of my shooting friends use these Kick-Eez pads and they work great, My local gun smith Jim Spalding sells and fits them

Nicky T
There are other options than just fitting a recoil pad. I use a Graco Mercury Recoil Reducer in my 682 Gold E stock as fitted by Simon the gunsmith at Doveridge - it works a treat
