foghorn
As the local farmer say about last weeks fog, "they're hanging on the hedges like a bloody great bunch of grapes " as to shooting them i guess once you have shot one you maybe struggling to find them again. foghorn
malkiserow
I've had a good bag in mild fog under a flight line where they could just see the deeks as they came over. Not much time for shooting though
monkeymagic1969
Its good roost shooting in the fog - they tend to come in low along the flight line
Cranfield
The birds don't like flying in fog and can usually be found near their favourite trees on foggy days.

Pepe
Went out yesterday in the fog. No pigeons about. They were all sitting in the trees. The crows were active though.
proTOM1
Was out today in the fog but it did not stop the birds moving at all shot 77 pigeons so it can be good in the fog if in the right spot
anser2
Quote Cranfield "The birds don't like flying in fog and can usually be found near their favourite trees on foggy days." Normally I would whole heartly agree whit you Cranfield , but to day was to prove the exception. I was out with a mate this morning in a light fog with a visability of about 300 yards. We had intended to shoot some recently cut maze, but it was a long walk and I reasoned the birds would stick to some rape running along the edge of a wood. Two hours later and no birds the fog started to thin a bit. We could just make out a few pigeons in the mist heading for the maze so i upped sticks and sloged out to the maze. My mate elected to stay put. As I got there 500 pigeons rose off the maze and flew off. They quickly started to return though were very spooky. Ended up with 20 odd birds plus a few ferals. I never thought the birds would find the small maze strip in that weather. The bag was a good one by local standards this year. In past years 50 birds bags were common on this farm and most winters we have a number of days well into the 100s in a morning , but there are few pigeons in the area at the moment and any bag into double figuars is good going. Shot several youngsters again including one with a puffy bill and a little down on the head. Cant beleve they kept breeding in the cold weather we have had.
