Rabbit Guts!

First off hello, this is my first post and I hope that it won't be my last!!

I am quite new to the wole hunting thing and was hoping that someone could put me straight on the whole "discovering if the coney you have just killed has Myxi" thing.

I know that I am supposed to look for a spotty liver but what the heck does a liver look like? I never paid attention in biology so i have spent some time up to my elbows in smelly rabbit guts trying to idenify the various bits, so far I have identified:

Heart (round thing inside the diaphram)

Lungs (soft things inside the diaphram)

Diaphram - obviously

Large and small intestine.

Kidneys (i think) round things - two of them about the size of a filbert?

Stomach - (a green smelly thing?)

apart from that there were a load of other sqidgy bits some more fragile than others any of which could be a liver as far as I am concerned...

Advise would be greatly appreciated!

Don't worry about the liver. The best sign of myxy is the eyes which are all puffy and closed, and the rear end which is all scabby. Any sign of that and chuck the *****r away.

If you wan to delve deeper then the Kidneys go yellow. These are attached to the back of the carcass.

Enjoy!!

Oh and welcome onboard, you'll love it here.
