Dunkield
£50 says you try it, and it ends up in the cupboard with all the other stuff No, I don't have one but I have owned, and luckily sold on, a few such gimmicks in the past, safari sling, and the gunslinger to name but two... The only one I kept and is still useful for Scotland is the biathalon type sling.

Is it one of these and are they really worth £50 ?- i have always fancied one, but never met anyone who has one so i could get a review http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-Niggeloh-Rifle-B...8f#ht_500wt_956 Edited February 23, 2010 by monkeymagic1969
Dunkield
The truthful answer would be yes and no. I like mine as it keeps the rifle behind you, if you are dragging a beast of jumping across streams for instance you don't have to worry about it swinging round off your shoulder. You can of course do the same with a normal sling, but on mine and other rifles the mag and trigger guard digs into your back. With these slings you can have a strap over each shoulder or over one, or you can split it diagonally as well. Ultimately if you don't like it you can still wear it like a normal rifle sling, Niggeloh products IMO are about the best there are anyway, I have their 'normal' slings on all my rifles now. To get 100% usefulness out of the rucksack type you would need to be brave and mount a front and rear qd on the side of the rifle. I haven't done this but I saw a guy in Croatia who had and his rifle laid perfectly flat on his back which is probably the best solution. This seems to be the only picture on the web, and for some reason he looks a bit awkward wearing it, the qd is mounted in the end of his stock which is a bad example as it sits too low, mine sits much higher on my back that this. I didn't pay 50 quid for mine they are £43 from Scott Country

Dunkield
I might have a picture of me modelling mine, but I don't have a nice jumper or such an expensive rifle/scope setup as that
