Would have been better to have seen the dog/wolf rip fu** out of one of them birds and if anyone starts with the old story of they kill live stock then surely a bird that can do this to a wolf can do it to livestock to :good:

These birds are specially trained to take the wolfs and foxes and nothing else! Yes they could well take out a sheep or a goat, come to that they could do some very serious damage to a person if they chose to, but they are captive bred birds that are fed and trained properly and are not flown near livestock.

To fully understand how inteligent any Bird of Prey is you need to have trained and worked them.

What a load of cr** captive bred or not these things are ruled by mother nature and she is boss thats like saying a dog is a pet and wouldnt bite a child how wrong has that sentence ever been :good:

If that is your opinion and you think I do not know what I am talking about why not tell us exactly what experience and knowledge you have of Birds Of Prey because I suspect that I have an awful lot more than you?

many animals can be trained to do unbelieveable things. these birds are trained to kill certain things and can distinguish them from others. obviously there maybe an exception sometimes. its the same as when you send a gundog to retrieve a pheasant it doesnt come back with a sheep. (or child)

Thank you "Bearhire", this is my point entirely.

If you are going to claim that what someone says is (And I quote) "A load of cr**", then you need to make sure that you know what you are talking about yourself to justify such a claim otherwise you run the risk of making yourself look a complete plonker!

(To Shawi72uk) If you wish to question my knowledge and experience with Birds of Prey please look at the following photo links!

This one is me with a young Steppe Eagle called "Storm" (Almost certainly the same species as used in the video) at an "Owl and Bird Of Prey Roadshow" Display run by close friends of mine:

This one is my own bird who I trained myself and trusted to travel around while hunting on my shoulder even when I was just wearing a tee shirt and no jacket or body warmer even though her tallons were nearly 2 inches long and capable of doing me some serious injury if she wanted to:

This last photo is again my own bird coming in at full speed (after being called in). When she was called in there was never any delay in the response!

Unfortunately I do not have Buffy any more. I had to let her go due to a health issue which meant I could not give her the time and attention that she deserved. She was 6 years old and totally unhandled when I got her (She had been kept purely for breeding) but within 2 weeks I had her flying free and withing a month she was successfully hunting rabbits etc.

I agree with Shawi72uk these birds are driven by mother nature and will if hungry enough kill livestock and these birds are not captivebred, they are wild caught, waked, trained and then hunted withand if they are injured during the flight the Mongls and Khazaks will just trap another....Jase.Oh and by the way they're not steppes eagles in the video they're juvinile goldies.
