batterys / lithium iron

Was talking to a pal tonight, discussing the amount of weight you carry when going pigeon shooting.

I reckon that i am carrying close to 5 stone in weight.

Decided to weigh my battery for the rotary, 12volt 17ah. comes in at 11lb (pounds) Could not believe it.

So my question is, Is anyone using lithium iron batteries for there rotary. I have seen those new ones for lamping and they are super light in comparrison and would be easy to set up wiring for the rotary.

Any thoughts

I had 2 7.2ah batteries and one has stopped charging. Just ordered myself a 15ah battery that is a little larger than one of my existing batteries and weighs 4kg. It comes with a decent warranty and is used for golf trolleys and mobility carts, so having spoken to the company they're confident these will have plenty of grunt for the job. The other good thing is they are a company that specialise in batteries and are a large warehouse shop up the road from me!!

Cost me £30 delivered!

Guys,

if anyone wants the 12vdc 7amp batteries then let me know, we throw them away by the hundred, well we actually pay a company to throw them but most have just sat inside alarm panels fully charged for 2 years and we remove them.

Now i dont want the flood gates to open on PM's but if your local OR live along the M62 I'll drop you five off for a tenner...let me know and i'll put the best ones to oneside the next time.

hi mate i use a lithium battery for lamping. it is very light but by the end of the night it is usually about dead. the old power caddy battery i used to haul round is now my magnet battery. this never used to be any where near dead by the end of the night but will die after a day on the magnet. so what im trying to say is i dont think my deben lithium ion battery would last all that long on a magnet.

hope this helps
