454697819
You really are getting my goat with all this. If i let my dogs roam and **** in others gardens i think hte dog may get some trouble and if my terrier killed someone's pet rabbit would that be okay? its only nature? all this holey than thow **** is getting on my tits and just because you have a cat. Why can't you walk your cat on a lead? George Firstly George let me say that was not my intention this convo would be a lot quicker and less blunt over a pint, after all they say you cant understand the internet as it doesn't have eye brows. The point I was trying to make was that whilst i do not agree that is fair that cats soil other gardens it is their nature, no amount of training or tricks can stop it, reasonable force to prevent this is ok in my eyes but deliberate injury is not. Granted it is a dogs nature to chase sheep.. BUT as a responsible dog owner you choose not to let that happen, I cannot control the actions of my cat. You love your dogs right... I love my cats, if i were to threaten your dog because it got of the lead and ended up in my garden because it roamed (which is their nature without a lead) wouldnt I be a little out of order to chase it with a big stick or throw rocks at it? Having cats threatened is not nice, We love our cats like anything because at the moment they are the only pet we can have, I bought my wifes cat as a present and it got hit by a car and she was distraught, so to hear ppls attitude that they would try and deliberately injure a pet of someone elses regardless of breed makes me sick, just because it is doing what it was born to do? I am not saying everyone should love cats, and there is no hollier than thow attitude, i was stating a fact, if someone hurt my cat deliberately either through shooting by "mistake" or other means, they would have me to answer to, much like if i did the same to your dogs as your pets. Different folks different strokes. I desperately want a dog, but cant because I work to much, so im not on one side of the fence or the other and hey if it makes any difference to you or not... my cat is old and decrepit and ****s in my garden. If you still have a beef with me, pm me as we have derailed this thread far enough. Cheers Alex

We don't have a problem with people's pet cats in our garden as we are quite rural but we do have a huge feral cat problem to say the least they are everywhere. When i was a boy we had a lab who my dad used to walk around our farms when he was looking around that would go and hunt them and kill them buy chucking them against walls I understand if you live in a city/town then a dog can be very impractical so fair enough George
starlight32
Im no lover of cats, but to delibretly poison someones pet is terrible. What sort of person does things like this? Allotment owners and those who compete in the National flower show?
starlight32
Of course the cat owner in my area will happily cough up the cost of these deterrants wont they? so it's my responsibility to keep someone else cat out and a slobbering labrador is much more effective and not usually leathal.. I think cats are ok but when they are the indoor type! or the taxidermy type... When we done up a previous house (12th century main structure) I found piles of bones under the hearth of the fireplace. After a bit of info gathering apparently it was common to bury a live cat in the hearth to ward off evil spirits coming down the chimney. Did'nt work though, Mrs starlight kept coming back...............
