Down South
I've just ordered a new rifle, CZ Varmint with 16" barrel but there's a 3 week delay from supplier. Never mind , it gives me time to look for a Sako quad. My new scope arrived today aswell. Bushnell Trophy 3x9 40, looks and feels good. £57 delivered from US. Not bad I think. Can't wait to put it all together and shoot it. BTW, the RFD called Edgar bros who say the 16" barrel is from the factory so it should be good! 3 weeks, long time.............Bah! Maori Haz
Sounds good Down South! Tell us how you get on with the new rifle. MH
dunganick
they are fine fine rifles, i have the longer version myself. if you do one upgrade on the whole rifle, make it the trigger, the brooks kit (despite being a rip off for the components provided) is worth every penny in the improvement it does to the trigger. but do wait and see what the trigger is like, very occasionaly they come out of the factory pretty good. jonno 357
I know quite a few new shooters are going down the 16" barrel route in both 22lr and 17hmr. I've heard only good reports so far from all who own them Maybe £26 cheque an a variation form time is coming near ! Let us know how you go on with the CZ Jonno

Down South
ive Why a Sako quad? It's different thats all and I like things that are a bit diffent. Then; if I had one and really liked it I could get another barrel, maybe .17 hm2 to replace the .22lr especially if ammo prices are right. To be practicle, the gun safe is not very big so 2 calibres in one gives more space; for a nice English 16 bore I've seen today(different again). deadeye ive
DS I'm not up to speed on this model but my understanding is it comes with 4 barrels . .22lr .22wmag .17mach2 .17hmr Each barrel colour coded so as to interact with the scope settings which aslo colour coded. May be i read it wrong ,,,,,,,,,,,i'm not sure now Ive
Down South
Ive Thats right, you can get all 4 barrels or 1 at a time. Burris have developed a scope with 4 colour coded rings on the windage and elevation dials. When you change barrels you dial in the setting for that barrel calculated when it was zeroed. You could do the same with any scope for a couple of barrels, only need to have a simple chart in your gun bag and it's done. Well thats the theory. Rifle in .17 HMR only about £450 on Guntrader. Burris and Sako(I think) are both owned by Beretta so they must expect great things from this rifle to have developed this scope. WAS. Down South
PB That looks good! What's the balance like? I've only handled the 21" varmint and thought it a bit muzzle heavy. I'm hoping the shorter barrel will get over that easpecially as I'm getting a moderator. I shoot mostly from my truck so that short barrel looks spot on! deadeye ive
or 1 at a time. DS I see where your coming from now mate as i thought it came with all 4 barrels whether you wanted them or not and that you had some daft money to spend. Cheers Ive
