Frenchieboy
I was out the other day visiting a friend and took these photos. Not on my certificate to shoot with a rifle so I shot them with my Canon (Eos 400D).

Frenchieboy
Just out of interest Wild-Fire roughly what area was that in mate? Don't give the exact location or some plonker will inevitably try taking a shot at it!
gixer1
Did I miss something? are there Wallabies roaming round lancashire free?
hendersons
quite a lot of wallabies roaming round in the south west, but i'm not sure about lancashire. They were released/escaped in the 50s and are now thriving as wild animals in the u.k. nick
Frenchieboy
Did I miss something? are there Wallabies roaming round lancashire free? No, the wallabies are captive mate, it's just the wannabes in Lancashire that are roaming about free! HW682
There used to be a colony in the Peak District. I have just done a quick google and opinion seems divided as to whether they are still there or have died out. Also a colony around Loch Lomond is mentioned. gixer1
Not that i'd want to but can these be legally shot? be a shame to see a new species to the UK killed out...

chewy0013
You can buy them as "pets" instead of goats or sheep to keep your grass down. Heres an article about it! Timesonline Stuart
robc89
A mate has them on his farm, they are brilliant to watch especially when the joeys are getting a bit confident! I think the emu is actually a rhea (some one will no doubt correct me if im wrong). He also has them on his farm, a breeding pair, they haver a litter every year and some are white its just they never seem to make it. They have tried all sorts! One of his wallabies escaped in the winter and hasnt got far keeps coming bak, we often joke that in a few years time we will be able to stalk them as they breed like rabbits! lol
Frenchieboy
Thanks for that Rob. I wasn't sure about the Emu myself and was willing and happy to be corrected!
