sako751sg
Went out yesterday with it being cracking weather about 5ish afternoon, but when we got there it was blowing a gale.Wind was a problem, but where the roe usually come out i think we would have been ok.Got into position, with absolutely no cover as they usually come out left to right on the picture and dont really need any and got comfy.About 15 mins later,2 bucks came out of the clump of trees on the right chasing,at only about 40 yards.I was a few yards from the rifle,so slid forward and got on the bigger buck at the back.He clocked the movement, and with him facing us i took him in the neck, and he dropped. At this time,i thought the other roe was a doe,but i scoped it and saw about 3 inches growth, and was away to take the shot when he legged it He weighs 16kg clean and the antlers were near enough clear of velvet. The pics of the bleaching antlers is the two in velvet from last week.Managed to strip them but the bleed stain on them hasnt come off very well. Also went out with guss109 this morning and he managed to bag his first buck.I wont say anything about the it,but if he wants to he can.Well done, and a good job fella.Just dont mention permissions and mentor ya bam. Frenchieboy
Great write up and photos as usual, and good stalking and shooting skills with it. You must know your ground better than you know the back of your hand! I'm going to have to come up there one day for a lesson from the master!!!!!! Nice one Dave the one on the left would have made a good head if it had been clean fella. Cheers again fella. They both would have been quite unique in their own way and i never realised they were until i walked up to them.
