It is best if you take a copy and keep it in your file. Other than that, nthing Good shooting
BattleFieldRelics
You need to forward the form within 7 days of purchase.

SSS
Im guessing shotgun, if that is the case, just send the FLD the form they give you, they write it on your ticket and your away. It gets slightly more complicated when buying and selling rifles
Diceman
Whenever I have bought a gun from a dealer they have taken care of all the notifications for me, they just enter details on your licence and away you go.

You are taking a hell of a chance leaving it to the dealer to notify your Police Force. If anything goes wrong, then that's your Certificate away. For Good. Full Stop. Notify the Police of the make, model, guage and serial number yourself and, as said above, send it by Recorded Delivery. Jim

joke209061
I think my local force stipulate recorded delivery (TVP). They lost a cheque of mine, so its best to be sure they've received it

Jim Your local police website will often have the forms you can download and print off to send to them. If your dealer does it for you like many do, ask him when he'll send it and them call the Firearms dept to make sure they've received it. Most important thing to do is call them a few days after they should have received it and check they know about the transfer.
