cortezarbo
Hi, I've read the definition of parallel tube cases but I dont want to make any mistakes with reloading. I have a few hundred Eley VIP Game loads that I might use to reload after their spent. Does anyone know if they are parallel or compression formed? Cheers
henry d
They should be parallel, but simply check by running a skewer or similar down the inside and you will feel it, there should also be a seperate plastic insert in the "brass" head. With CF cases there is a distinct curve from the base.

Vince Green
You can check them by holding them up to the light. I don't know of any compession formed eleys just Winchester AAs and RXP Remingtons, neither of which are very common in this country any more. They were popular a few years back but have been priced out of the market in recent times. Most C/F cases have an eight star crimp. Thats the usual giveaway. All the usual cartridges you are likely to encounter will be parallel tube these days, Edited April 25, 2010 by Vince Green
Floating Chamber
Compression formed tubes are way too expensive to make these days!
