Dunkield
The compact version of the wildcat was the only one I would have considered, having had a PES and sold it and as stated the T8 was never in the running. I hate mods [insert obvious joke here] so wanted the smallest/ lightest /best engineered one to get the job done. If you sit my rifle alongside a P8 (not compact) or T8 especially with a cover on, you will see what I mean, the CQB is about the same size as a SAK
Lez325
I had the PES on my Tikka - found it a tad on the heavy side ( stainless steel etc)- T8 too noisey for me- found the Wildcat pred 8 just right shame they are so expensive - these centre fire mods- still I used my 222 without any mod and trust me - it was loud Les
Evil Elvis
I can't see why you'd want to chop and change a good working one because a couple of blokes on here can't keep their kit rust free tongueff.gif Thats not the point, I have had non strippable mods blow up on the hmr so im paranoid now. I take mine off after every use and store it in an upright position...always BUT there is still a residue of fluid in there that i would like to clean out. I have a dm80 on my hmr and like the way they strip and clean, theyre brill. I have just been offered one for £150. Just to add, the t8 is very queit, the .222 i have is barely louder than a hmr! BUT in fairness havent tried anything else on it! the other thing is....it balances the gun brilliantly.... Lez325
T8's make that horrible tin sound when firing- the Wildcat Predator 8 does not- simples Les

Mr_Logic
ASE is the best mod for a 22CF IMHO - I have one on my 223, it's quite light, good moderation and slimline so good for the lamp.

Mr_Logic
No, but there is no great requirement so to do. Stripping the P8 is a right pain, it's very messy and doesn't really achieve a lot.

Unfortunately I can't argue a lot with that, I never cleaned my ASE and rarely bother to much with any other mod, yet I clean my P8's all the time, I guess...... because I can, I'm not that convinced it is all that necessary but it makes me feel better knowing it's clean! It never shoots any better for a clean, because I never let it get dirty enough to start effecting the shot!
hawkeye
Another vote for the pred 8 compact :o had mine for two years now B) :) :o Same mod as MM cost me £180 i had the T8 ar on my 223 before and the end rotted away in less than 2 years... its also a lot quieter than my old one Mag357 heard it the first time and straight away rang the RFD and ordered one.. :( :good:
