Just received a speed controller with my magnet (2nd hand) it doesnt work with either new fuse or fuse shorted with silver paper. is there anything else that can cause it to fail?. All connectors inside box are fine? cheers in advance for any replies :hmm:

Hi Mosa

Probably one of the componets inside has failed, was the fuse blown or did you just change it incase?

If you can get to me I can take a look.I do that sort of thing for a living offshore.

they seem to be the most unreliable piece of a pigeon shooters kit - i've had numerous die on me - just sent them back and they were replaced (obvisously something you can't do as it's 2nd hand).

do you know who makes the one you have... magtame etc?

This is the type. I have now broke the solder to the fuse unit (not a problem i can repair) All other parts seem in tack ie connections etc. The only thing i noticed on 1st opening was that the red wire from the bottom of the fuse unit was sitting hard up against the black barrel thing (not electrical minded im afraid) under the board. I know the inners will cost me £13.99 so im not that bothered it just seems a shame if it is something small trouble is there is nothing visable i can see

so are the red wire)circled in white)connected ok and also the link (circled in yellow)connected ok.

you can connect the red wire and the link together,to elimanate the fuse causing a problem(power not connected)sorry if that sounds patronising..

tried that also mate

only thing you can try next,is connect the batter directly to where the link is and to the earth or negative(black and red wire) and this will eliminate the incoming power lead.

a meter would find the fault sooner.
