Dr_T
I use 30g No.6's (Clear Pigeon fibre) in my 12gauge if decoying on 1/4 and 1/2 choke. Good out to 45yards. Maybe 32g No 6's for flighting and roost shooting.

yickdaz
hello again chaps, can anyone help me out here with Cartridges?? LOL i have no idea why you need heavier or lighter ones! very new to this. cheers you use lighter loads for shooting pigeons over decoys up to 40 yards say 28 to 30g6 and 7 shot. and for flighting and roosting 30 to 32g 6s. because you are shooting at longer ranges and need more pellets and pattern to do the job. for pheashant and duck 30 32g 5s or 6s. geese 4 shot up to bbs. because duck and geese are tougher birds so need bigger pellets. Tobyb525
30g would be the total weight of the pellets no. 6 is the size of the individual pellets Anything between 28g and 32g of no. 6 will be ideal for pigeons For clays the standard load is 28g of no.7 or no.8 Yes, smaller the number, bigger the pellet. If you do any fishing they are the same sizes as the lead shot you use for that.
