West Sussex. Wildfowling, pigeon and rabbit shooting.

Recommended Posts

We`ve got shedloads of protected Brent but quarry species are mainly canadas with the occasional greylag and the very occasional whitefront. We`re too far south for pinkfeet although with their expanding range it may not be long before we start to see them in numbers.

The club is currently working on asking all its members to contact their MP by whatever means is appropriate. Mainly because not all of its members have a computer. Personally, I`m going to visit mine since she is a newbie and I have`nt met her yet.

For those of you who`ve been thinking about joining but have`nt done anything about it yet, now would be a good time to get your finger out and secure loads of shooting for the coming season.

Although membership applications are accepted well past the start of the season, by beginning the process now you get to attend the main pre-season new members meeting and harbour walk around which usually takes place in early August.

Obviously, the club can`t keep putting on these events for the odd single latecomer so my advice is to get the process underway now and get the full benefit of signing up in good time.

If this is your first foray into wildfowling, I know you`ll look back at the end of your first season and say "Why did`nt I try this years ago?"

It`s only four weeks or so until the start of the fowling season. If you are going to take the plunge and join CHWA, now`s the time to do it.

A whole new world of shooting opportunity lies before you just waiting to be explored.

You only live once and you`re a long time dead.

So do it!

Look forward to meeting you on the foreshore.

For administrative reasons this years new members induction meeting will be held on the 18th of September, slightly later in the season than usual, so you`ve still got a week or two to join and get the full benefit of the new members meetings.

Already this season members have bagged good numbers of canada geese, mallard and a few teal. With the big influx of wigeon due in mid October the season is off to a great start with even more sport to look forward too.

If you have not yet shot teal, wigeon, mallard, canada geese or any of the other species on the quarry list it`s probably because you don`t belong to a wildfowling club.

Join this one now to rectify that shortcoming.
