hi all,

after losing my lock kinfe i am after a good rabbit paunching knife, preferbly locking but i will be ok with a sheath knife. needs to have a blade which will keep its edge. my budget is about £30.

cheers,

Aaron. :good:

Why not get an Opinel No.8 or 9 - great knife for the money and keeps an edge very well

All good suggestions, I have various knives including a Mora Clipper and it's probably the one I use most. The stanley knife (with a hook blade) works well but I also just bought one of these - http://gunmart.net/accessories_review/outd...tcher_lite_kit/

Cracking bit of kit for £60, even if you don't have to do deer, the knives are so good it was worth it just for the skinning (has a guthook too) and the filleting knife. The sharpener is great too.

go to the bushwear sight and you will find a plastic handled knife, orange so you wont lose it, £5

I have two that I have had for about three years and use on deer. dont spend silly money you will only end up leaving it a field one night

this will do 50 rabbits and keep their edge, i sharpen with a steel every outing.#

at that price you dont worry about loosing them, though I havnt yet due to them being bright orange.

Sound advice :good:

I have a Leatherman Knife that retails at about £160. Although a cracking knife I more often lift one of the Bushwear budget jobs as I have no fear of losing or damaging the knife.

Depending on if it will soley be used for legging and paunching bunnys or not will determin blade size but personally I find most knives have to much blade for the job.

What am looking at getting is a woods sheath knife from moonraker knives called a little hunter (also in your budget)

But also the brusletto balder knife is good or a opinel number 6 or smaller ! :good:

I have a mora but find it way to much blade.
