Guest cookoff013
i`d recomend not going for bismuth. i have no personal experiance with the others. but they have to be better. i`d always say tungsten for long range pass shooting goose. MC
I too would avoid Bismuth, the new stuff is meant to be better but to be honest I am not going to pay the money to find out. I have not used the others but if you are trying to avoid steel then go for either ITM or TMX from Gamebore or Hevi Shot from Express. Guest cookoff013
the yankies know there stuff when it comes to ammo. their industry is faster than ours when it comes to this. they handload steel 7/8oz of bbs at 2000fps. (1900fps +) they give steel so much energy it works well, overcoming the ballistic dis-advantage you wont be shooting 80+ yards out. thats silly. anything in 40yards should be toast. i`d allways recomend the tungsten to a first time waterfowler, it is cheaper than buying a, cheaper inferiour cartridge and then never using them again. also the tungsten is the same speed as lead. so lead distances dont have to be adjusted. there is a difference between tungsten at 1200fps and steel going 1900fps. ! usa handloaders developed a 10gauge Tungsten super shot 1,3/4oz of TSS#5 going 1550fps. this has been patterend at 100yards and is regarded as a 100yard gun. (dont forget they shoot swans too). the density is 18g/cc and at 100yards still patterns and penetrates steel plate. i`d be happy to provide the links.
