Dunkield
Terry / William, Neck shot I take it? Sooner we can shoot them and CWD with .223's the better.

william
To Stuart P I shot it probably in the same place as shown on your pic but it can't be seen that well. to henry d I actually think the meat is as good as roe just at there isn't so much of it
Dunkield
They are supposed to be the best eating of all deer, but I will let you know after I have eaten this one. I think that must depend on what they have been eating, I will let you know, that one is in my freezer at the moment. The butcher did warn me that it was 'a little old' when he handed the meat back to me, so it may not be the best example. If I am still here next week you will know it wasn't too bad! Jon-Boy
Whata the legality's in shooting muntys in the Uk? we have a load of them on my shoot, but ive always just observed them!
Dunkield
They are deer so you have to shoot them with a deer legal calibre for the England. Calibre not less than .240, must not produce less than 1700 ft/lbs muzzle energy, bullets must be of an expanding variety. There is no close season for Muntjac or CWD, but read up on it as you should not orphan a follower etc. Here is some detail on Muntjac, but not about managing them.
